That lap pillow scene was so incredibly precious. Letting out all his emotions without giving away any details except his feelings while Emilia purposefully saying "uh huh" just to keep him at peace despite not knowing what he was saying. The VAs for this show are top-notch!

Episode 7: A little hard to tell but when Subaru dies while being tortured, it was by Ram, that's why they got the little flashback after she attacks him later. We also learn that Subaru has the smell of the witch, while we don't know the full ramifications, it's pretty important. I've always like the line 'save the jokes for your makeup and weird fetishes' by Betty, she's so snappy. So Subaru has resolved to get it right, he's got 2 obstacles, the curse and Rem. Episode 8: I can feel where Subaru comes from, I get nervous at work sometimes trying to impress my coworkers and in his case he will literally die. About the part when Betty says she can detect the curse, it was actually foreshadowed the first death. Subaru visits Betty at night before his first death and she says 'that's not my problem' or something like that cause she detected the curse. As for the whole 'Satella' thing, Subaru mentioned that Emilia took Satella's name to push people away. The first loop 'Satella' had puck so it's very unlikely that it wasn't Emilia. The anime can be a bit confusing, but I would say in general, when it directly states something there is usually no trickery.

hmmm i actually didnt pick up that betty detail. is this all in LN? pretty interesting considering what we know of betty now.

Emilia isn't the Jealous Witch -- as Subaru figured out, she used that name in the first loop because she barely knew him and didn't want to drag him into her royal selection mess, so she wanted to scare him off. Sadly for her it didn't work since he didn't know anything about the world then. As you can see the OPs don't spoil any story details and are often skipped by the show, so you can react to them from now on. :) OP2 & 3 are amazing.
