Hello everyone. Again I wanted to apologize for not posting lately. This entire situation is really stressing me out. I needed to take a few days off to think and find things to relax because I just can’t sit down and enjoy watching anime when all of this drama is going on.

But next post I will return. Like I said I will be trying out the timer with specific animes, but some animes like Grand Blue and Prison school Konosuba will go on like the usual I will just take extra pauses and give more reviews to the shows I am watching. Fairy tail I am unsure because it is owned by TV Tokyo ( and ever since the drama I did get one video on YT blocked of a Fairy Tail reaction) but I think I have some good options for that one that will work out for desktop and mobile users.

But I will work on giving more reviews in between and after each episode. More edits/etc. If it turns out that most companies will not care than things probably can go back to the way that they were but nobody knows yet what will happen. Better to not risk it and assume everything is okay.

I know a lot of people jumped to timers, and a lot are pretending like nothing will happen by not changing anything.. But I think it is important to keep in mind “fair use” and trying to make the reaction more transformative and not make it about watching the anime but about watching the reactor and that being the reason why you are there to watch.

It will be a couple more days before I post reactions again. I just really need some mental days to get rid of this stress and anxiety built up.

Sorry guys I really want to get back into the shows but I just have been feeling so defeated by all of this lately. Trying to fix that and will return! <3

What did you figure out for mobile users? I assumed it was a lost cause because there wasn’t any solution I could find because of software limits.

Check out how Jennanime does it on YouTube. She puts a timer over the little screen but also lets you see the subtitles.

No offense, but can you give me a list of people that you’ve seen were affected by this recently (not including the obvious of course) I am subscribed here on Patreon to quite a few people (including groups) that do full reactions and continue to do so without any issues whatsoever.

Some people do a clever trick: they play the episodes on a TV and leave it in the background of the video while watching the episode at the same time on a computer

Well see the thing is. All we know is companies were contacted by the Voice Actress so that much had been confirmed. We don’t know what kind of action they will take. So some people think nothing will happen and others are just trying to be prepared in case something bad does happen.

I thought, maybe I’m wrong, but I thought, this is only about patreon, not YouTube. First of all, toei or other anime production companies won’t able to see your content unless they become a patreon member. So technically they don’t know whether your patreon posts contain full anime or just timer. So unless Patreon themselves give those companies some kind of access, which I think it’s very unlikely, toei or others wouldn’t know what’s in your patreon videos, they can only see your title it’s anime reaction or review. So since the third party companies won’t able see your content, only patreon will give you troubles in terms of copyright stuff. But again, unless they really want to get rid of all the reactors and all their react videos, they will have to go to each single post and see if you just put a timer or edited version or full anime. And again I don’t think patreon staffs would have enough time, energy and people to do that. So all in all I believe unless patreon decided to clean out all anime reactors and all their video, things on patreon should be fine. This is not like YouTube, people other than patreon have to pay in order to see what exactly you are posting every time

I completely respect and am glad you are taking well-needed rest. As someone who struggles with mental health, it's good to see healthy breaks in stressful workloads. However, as someone who does not know a whole lot of the situation aside from your posts, what does that do to your already existing material? What is to stop someone finding every TV Tokyo reaction made prior to the change since they are all viewable?

Take a break don’t rush until you’re ready, no point doing reactions if your not comfortable or in the right mood set, hopefully things turn up right for, me and my GF wish you the best :)

Feel free to take the time you need to decompress and come back fresh and energized. On a related note, while One Piece is on a hiatus you might consider something to fill the void and raise your spirits. I would recommend Ascendance of a Bookworm and/or resuming That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime. Not only are they both animes that I fully enjoy, but also other reactors/reviewers on YouTube seem to really like them both as well. I'm certain that they both will be right up your alley.

Really you should listen to what some people are saying and not be so reactionary. Patreon will supposedly give you AT LEAST 1 warning before actually doing anything, so before you make these changes you should at least wait to see if that warning actually happens. I understand your dilemma, but I personally will not be sticking around for Timer reactions so I hope you dont end up going that route.

Animaechan another Anime Reaction Channel posted this: Tonight, Nitxua (one of my mods) told me that they had combed through Patreon's Terms of Use and the results are (what I consider) VERY GOOD NEWS!! See their message to me below: "As I read it the copyright holder must claim their copyright on EACH POST SPECIFICALLY, and if Patreon deems their claim valid the creator has 48 hours to remove the claimed posts, else Patreon will delete the posts themselves. They will only remove the page completely if the verified copyright holder is claiming every post on your page. No matter what the situation you will be guaranteed a 48 hour window to make your page compliant no matter the complaint. In that case you can also file a counter notification. The moment you file a counter notification your page is immediately considered compliant, and the onus is on the original sender of the complaint to file a lawsuit through the federal courts." The most important part of this is that even if Funimation or anyone else were unhappy with my content, they'd have to file a complaint first, and I'd get 48h to take it down. Obviously I wouldn't fight it or anything like that - which is basically what happens on YouTube, too. I can post what I want, and if anyone is unhappy, it just needs to be taken down. I was very worried the repercussions could be a lot worse and that my Patreon could immediately be terminated. This does not seem to be the case - so I can go back to posting like I used to. I thought we'd need at least 2 or 3 weeks to see how the drama plays out, but thanks to Nitxua I feel a lot more at ease. I also want to say I really appreciate all my mods for listening to videos on this subject and helping me to try and figure out the best course of action. And once again, thank you to the patrons who were understanding and kind about the situation and allowed me the time to figure things out without immediately complaining and expressing negativity about how it was being handled. I was and always will be doing my best. So i think ur also fine with ur Reactions as usually (Only my opinion timer reactions suck ;) ) but thanks for the update and gl ;)

that doesn't really fix the problem... it only fools the bots looking for copyrighted materials. no matter how "transformative" it is... if you show the full episode so that people can see and hear it enough to see what is going on... its likely against fair use. and if you cant really tell/hear what is going on then whats the point in adding it in the video in the first place... just use timer and you are 100% safe.

Take your time Jamie. If this is stressing you out don't hesitate to take a week or a month for yourself. And for copyright it doesn't hurt to be safe. Most people wait until there's already a problem before doing anything, which isn't smart.

I heard that, since Suzy Lu has her own website with monthly subscriptions now, she's the one who deleted her Patreon. Nothing to do with Patreon banning her. Not sure how true is it. I agree with others here that you may be overreacting, but at the same time I think there would be nothing wrong in you being more careful for a couple months to see if anything happens. I seriously doubt it, BTW. I think it's mostly some reactors being very vocal about their worries and scaring each other in a domino effect. As far as we know, Suzy Lu basically TRIED VERY HARD to get banned. It's not like they just casually banned someone because she was posting full reactions and they noticed. She literally threatened anime studios, ignored warnings, started a flagging war with other youtubers and made a huge fuss. She very likely got lots of reports out of spite for her behaviour, on top of it. I would suggest to switch to completely timed reactions (no subs, if not maybe a hint or two here and there to allow for syncing) and see how it goes for a couple months. If nothing happens, like I'm positive will, you can switch back to edited content (but maybe keep your full reactions timed).

It’s your decision moving forward what you wanna do but I feel like that’s drastic considering Patreon won’t just immediately delete your page at the very they would tell yu what’s going on. But if your fearful your fearful, at least theirs still some reactors doing it normally until they’re told or shown otherwise

That's the point some people here is trying to explain, but unfortunately Jamie seems too scared and anxious to trust it. It's not like Suzy Lu got banned out of the blue. What happened, from what I can infer, is that she basically started a war against other reactors, Toei, Patreon itself, the entire universe and their moms. Not only she completely ignored warnings, but she answered to them by threatening to take HER legal action against THEM. And now I read that she claims she wasn't banned at all and it's her that willingly decided to switch to upload on a personal website. Either way, it's highly unlikely Patreon will start a witch hunt because of her. Not only Reactors are a pretty decent chunk of their users, but also the fact that what happened to her is such a big deal is a false perception. It's just that her viewers, and a bunch of redditors, are very vocal and noisy about the issue. In reality, Patreon and anime companies barely even noticed. For them, it's just another youtuber.

Like I said before, NOTHING will happen to you. Because you're fine. You're not attacking anyone, not bringing attention to yourself. The ONLY REASON any of that happened is because of Suzy abusing fair use while also being a huge hypocrite and breaking fair use laws herself, so people attacked her and it got the attention of everyone else. But you've never had any issues other than the takedown by companies over on Youtube, but that's as far as it's ever gone for most people. Because again, most people are keeping the peace, minding their own business, and not hurting anyone. So why would anyone target you? If you start doing timers and making these unnecessary and drastic changes, then like others, I'm taking my leave.

Let her figure out what she needs to figure out, sure she may be paranoid but at the end of the day it's better her losing a couple patrons vs all of her patrons. If smf does get a strike on Patreon which I can tell you rn is UNLIKELY; they’ll review it to make sure it’s legit, contact her and tell her she has 48 hours to take the post down or re edit it but no one wants to read they just wanna be scared &amp; with all the reactors that haven’t changed and the fact that most of them do the same or similar shows more and more ppl will just start to move on the longer this goes on 🤷🏾‍♂️

I know there is a saying - better save than sorry and I know you're worried and nervous, but you should relax, take your time, read the comments here because I think guys have a point. I don't think patreon is going to target you because of the whole situation with Suzy. I've been watching your reactions for quite some time. There are reactors who do this covering their footage stuff all the time because of what if. I personally think it's not necessary because to be honest Suzy was a troublemaker for god knows what. I know that because I used to watch some of her gameplays back then. I'm telling you everything's gonna be fine you have been showing us your full reactions while others covered them for quite a while and nothing happened to you or your channel. I don't think patreon is that stupid. Unless they grant access to japanese companies to check on patreons content they can't know what the posts are about, they would have to pay for it. I'm not saying you should not be careful and take some precautions. What I'm saying is I think It's gonna be over soon and everything will return back to normal.

Some of the people commenting on here are simply stating what they would like to see happen personally, either because it is more convenient for them or because they are here for the wrong reason (ie they are more concerned with their ability to watch an anime and less about the reaction content). These people are not creators and couldn't care less about things like copyright laws since, as a mere viewer, it won't affect them at the end of the day if Jamie's page gets shut down or she gets sued. They'll just find another person who hasn't been shut down yet and watch them instead. It's hard to watch Jamie struggling with this because she is torn between catering to these people and protecting herself from the large-scale awareness that is spreading on Youtube. Most other types of artist without these kinds of viewers in their ear wouldn't hesitate to make compliance changes to their work if they saw someone getting penalized for doing something they are also doing. Sadly she is being made to doubt herself on account of these people threatening to stop supporting her. Frankly, if they would stop supporting her because she makes changes to her work to protect herself from actual laws with real consequences, then they aren't worth worrying about because they aren't actually here to watch her content. They are here to watch an anime and there are reasons those sites on the web that host that content illegally are anonymous, change websites frequently and don't host the videos on their site. But I'm sure the people complaining that it is too big an inconvenience to open two whole web browsers at once will supplement her income completely if her patreon gets shut down or will cover her court costs if she gets sued...right? No, it's far more likely they will say something along the lines of "That's BS. They shouldn't be able to do that. I'm sorry this is happening to you." Then they will stop charges and go find a different person to follow because they won't have any personal repercussions at all. These are the people that you should completely ignore and if they come or go, let them. So, Jamie, take some days to relax and make yourself feel secure that you are protected. Those who are here for your content will still be here waiting.

I am going to be blunt. In my opinion you are overreacting, They are so many reactors on patreon who continue post their full reactions with no issues. I will respect your decision on what format you will going to use from here but you will also have to respect my decision that i will no longer be subed to you if you don't sort it out soon. Literally at the bottom of the page from the link you just posted it says quite clearly..."Please note that if we receive multiple DMCA notices for your page that we may ban you from using Patreon as part of our repeat infringer policy." I get that y'all saw this on Animaechan's page and that she decided to ignore the copyright infringement based on one of her mod's reading of the ToS, but those same ToS gives them the ability to take down your page for any reason, at any time with no recourse. 48 hours is a way of preventing bad faith take-downs, not to prevent legitimate take-downs based on copyright and if they see widespread abuse of this system they will take action. Unlike Youtube they aren't using bots and can look at your entire page of posts anytime they want.

Damn whiteknight playboys. At the end of the day it all comes back to having to pay for the same stuff we can get censored on YouTube. Yes we are here for your reactions, not the anime, but is it really to much to ask for some kind of benefits for paying?. Most people will not have the resource to run the anime on side, or watch from their mobile devices. That's just a simple fact.

Ok a simple question. Why not simply post full reactions on discord instead of patreon? And some pseudo timer reactions links here to satisfy patreon. This way patreon should be more than save if u all fear that patreon will do anything.

This sounds like a great solution. Of course, it means patreons will have to jump through an extra hoop but posting the links through a discord server should eliminate the risk of patreon shutting your page down entirely.

They’re not gonna get in trouble lol. Unless someone reports you or snitch to the company about you Patreon isn’t gonna delete anyone. They had to delete Suzy cause ppl physically found her page and reported her. The best way to summarize is Patreon won’t crucify you for your content but if a person or company finds out and thinks your content non fair use Patreon has to comply and have it taken down but most reactors are ignoring the situation

On a side note I dont really like her reactions because she is nagging and putting on a fight with her followers far too often.So much so that I even couldnt enjoy the animes and her reaction anymore. Everyone remember that one time they felt off and life was giving a mental break down. Ya me too. So please with the up most respect let SMF recover and do what she needs to do till she feels comfortable to upload. In the end she is human just like us.
