Ryokugyu is one of the new Admirals that replaced Aokiji and Akainu (he has been hinted about a few times only in name). Hes on the same level as Fujitora. He's still a bit of a mystery but his name means "Green Bull" so maybe he has some photosynthesis ability that he gets energy from the sun so thats why he doesn't eat, who knows?

If you want you can call Ryokugyu "Green Bull" because it is the literal translation of the name of the second new admiral. The "3 years not eating" has lead to many speculations about his devil fruit.

admiral Ryokugyu/green bull was first introduced by picture(not clear ofc) while doffy was talking about who has the most powerful forces currently and sakazuki recently told him to kick out issho as he also said in this episode

The only flashbacks I was a bit annoyed with was rewatching the Sabo ace and luffy stuff since I just edited my episode of Sabo reaction repeating that again so soon was a bit much. 😅 But it was nice seeing the older stuff

Ryokugyu (緑牛): Common pronounciation is: "Rio-Kew-Gyoo". Name literally means "Green Bull", much like how Fujitora = "Wisteria (Purple) Tiger", Kizaru = "Yellow Monkey", Aokiji = "Blue Pheasant", Akainu = "Red Dog"

so the official end of the arc is now in 6 episodes on 891, which you could do in one video or split it up in two of 3. On the other hand the arc does come to a sort of unofficial end in 4 episodes on 889, with the remaining 2 being a sort of lead-in to the start of the Wano Arc at episode 892. So there really is a number of different ways you could choose to divvy up the remaining episodes here. Whatever way you choose to do it, however, once you've reacted to episode 889 it will finally be where you can react to openings 19 through 21 without fear of being spoiled by information contained within.

I remember OP fans went crazy ballitic reading this arc in the manga weekly. Kinda pissed how TOEI animation butchered these reverie hyped chapters with recaps. But seeing your reaction to it is fun and kinda make these episodes enjoyable.

The fault is Fuji TV rather than Toei Animation. Budget is decided by Fuji TV, and Toei just produce the anime requested by the TV station. There is no merit for Toei to drag out, so I think Toei doesn't want to do it in their mind as a creator.

After thinking about it, there's absolutely no reason to keep Doflamingo alive. The World Government works for the Celestial Dragons, and so do the Marines. If they want him dead, it doesn't make sense for him to be guarded. So that's just a logical inconsistency with the story.

I binged reverie recently (read the manga weekly when it was coming out though) and it made me kinda sick of marineford flashbacks, as good as the arc itself is. Watching it again, right after your ep of sabo reaction doesnt help lol

Ohmygosh you are the perfect example of what Denial is. Cause you keep saying "why did he have to die", and that's what keeping you form moving on and crying everytime Ace is mentioned. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong feeling sad about it or even crying, but what is annoying is you always flip out everytime they show ace, or even just "talk" about that moment. Just accept the fact he is dead, and focus on something else whenever it's brought up again, like the fact that luffy comes out a stronger person, or hatred towards Akainu, or how sweet the revenge will taste when the moment comes. Try it out cause until you accept Ace's death, you are always gonna hate relieving that scene, and you are always gonna cry about it. Plus while you are doing that, you will be missing out on the events happening.

Yo I had a dream a few nights ago where I was going to some concert and I was trying to convince my friends to go with me. For some reason the band was the Whitebeard Pirates, or at least Whitebeard was the singer. I kept telling my friends "You have to see this! If you didn't want to watch these marineford flashbacks you could've skipped them, they're complete filler. It makes me feel bad how this arc got ruined by toei animation, in the manga it was one of the best arc ever made and took a few chapter to complete, they stretched it out to 12 episodes and there's no way im watching this stuff.

Something that I think you kinda missed this reaction was how Fujitora was saying that with Vegapunk's newest creation they didn't need the Warlord System anymore. Just as a reminder, both Buggy and Boa Hancock are Warlords. IF they abolished the system, that would mean that they would go back to being regular pirates that are hunted by the World Government. In Hancock's case that would be especially bad as it was her status as Warlord that was keeping her homeland and her people safe from the Government.
