There were actually a lot of dubbed voices I liked such as Bartos, Trebols, Diamante.. But Rebeccas, Koalas, and I am still torn on Viola's hers just sounded a bit like a fan dub quality.

If I remember when this came out, it actually released in the middle of the Dressrosa arc, so that's why it ended before Gear 4.

I think the weirdness of Violet's voice is that they are trying to make the Riku family's voices have an accent to take on the Spanish atmosphere of Dressrosa when they just speak like everybody else in the original version. On top of that, they're speaking with French accents and not Spanish ones, which is even weirder.

I wonder what they're going to do with Sabo in the future. I mean, they fired the guy who does his voice, right? He sounds like Edward Elric and Broly, and I just know that guy got fired. He has a unique voice, though, so I doubt they can find a soundalike.

Haven't seen this one yet but the One Piece dub is extremely great. I actually think it's better in some places.

Koala's voice is fine, the dialogue at the beginning didnt require much inflection cause she was giving a mission briefing, being all secretive like. And them giving the dressrosa natives accents was weird at first but i like the idea. Makes Viola even hotter lol. Ive heard the dub before and am mostly fine with it, all the straw hats are fine, its just some side characters sound too different from the sub but are fine after a while or maybe have weird direction and just generally sound awkward all the time. Like I remember Hachi's English voice is.... Not the best for example lol. With as many characters as one piece has, i understand its hard to get a consistent quality for all characters, especially with how small the English va industry itself is.

I was just watching it for a little bit because I was curious of the voices. But nah I just couldnt, even Luffys voices sounded so wrong and out of place. Not really my thing, especially if u consider and know what great work the jap voice actors are doing here. The dub version doesnt even come close to this. I recommend everyone to watch this here and see how much effort the jap voice actors put in in each episode. They even switch places to stay with the ones who are actually together in this scene. And Frankys voice actor kind of even looks like Franky lol. I was especially impressed by choppers voice actress. It just gives me the feeling as if the characters are dubbing the humans^^. Ok you are not going to get any good context of how good the dub really is if you just listen to these specials and only get feedback from your sub elitist/wanabe weeaboo fanbase. There are people who will bash the dub without giving it a chance. They listen to a small clip here and there, then it sounds so different to them they auto call it inferior. I gaurentee you that if you actually listen to the dub anime and get use to the voices, you will actually come to like the dub. They do such an amazing job picking the right voice for each character it leaves me in awe every single time. They manage to find the right voice that perfectly matches each character. I also wanted to say that the special have weird pacing issues so you won't get their best performance here. Its way easier to judge the english voice actor cuz we all speak english so we know more easily what they are saying. I'm telling you that if you just give it a chance and get used to the character's voices, it will sound great! Even Luffy who everyone is so used to the sub sounds really good. Look up Luffy screams in the dub, they sound so powerful! Please!

Yup to everything. I mean, I may not be too informed on One Piece in general, but this all sounds on-point with English dubs at large. Weird, the people who were never willing or planning on giving the dub a chance think the dub sucks; guess that settles that! Plus, anyone would be biased if they've spent any amount of time (never mind 870 episodes) with Japanese actors, then listened to what amounts to a sample of the dub. "Huh... these voices are weird, and not what I expected." Oh, yeah? No kidding. There are definitely no outside factors there. Even I catch myself falling for this bias now and again. If I've watched the sub prior and am LOOKING FORWARD to the dub, I'll still sometimes be like "Ehhhhh, that's not how I pictured that person sounding/that scene's dialogue/that line delivery." This is cut WAY down when I watch a dub cold. Of course, all of this is why I think everyone should just watch and/or react to whatever language they want, but the longstanding thought that dubs - by default - suck, and they have to work hard to get out of that placement has ALWAYS irked me.

If you guys haven't figured it out from my other comments, Yes, I do have a problem with sub elitists. They literally bully anyone who watches dubs. They are just terrible people. It’s one thing if you prefer to watch subs, but still respect the tastes of others in how they watch their anime! if you’re the kind of person who literally goes out of their way to shit on the dub regardless of their quality, as well as bully those who prefer to watch dubs, then you’re a total asshole! Your opinion is just that, an opinion! Yours doesn't trump mine no matter how much you hate the dub. Fing Sub Supremacy!

I really love the dub, always have and grew up with it. I'm fine with dubs and never have a problem with them. I prefer to watch the dub because English is the only language I speak/am comfortable with, but I'll get used to the sub eventually. Some things I like better in the dub than the sub, like Whitebeard revealing the truth of the One Piece in my opinion was done MUCH better in the dub. He just says " One Piece..does exist! " but in the Dub he says " THE ONE PIECE..THE ONE PIECE IS REAL! " He calls attention to the topic, the One Piece treasure, and then he repeats himself to make sure that everyone can hear it. But the original could easily not have been heard/missed the first half and then you'd have no idea what he was saying. I don't know, just sounded better to me, and is an example of what I see as something done better in the dub.

That's interesting. I actually found the dub delivery of Whitebeard's line to be lacking. He is such a dominating presence yet he had to repeat his line like a beta who people might not have heard? Nah, the sub captures his true nature and stature. It's MF Whitebeard, people gonna hear every little syllable of what he says. And the dub has some bad translations that mess up the meaning of the scene- like when Mihawk cuts the ice mountain at marineford, the marines in dub say "That thing shouldn't be called a sword" as if it was the sword's greatness that cut the ice; while in the original they rightfully acknowledge the master swordsman.

Stop crying because of how many more people prefer subs. We are just stating our opinions on how cringe the dub is compared to the sub. If you like dubs more, good for you; no one's telling you to change your opinion. Just because we state our true opinions, it doesn't mean we are "elitists".
