Sorry. I promise I'll contain myself in future comments, but I had a lot here. :/ (Also, random, but I like the blue lights) 16:06 Hinata's word they translated as "weakness" there was 'yowa-ki' (弱気). It's not a bad subtitle; actually, I'm not sure how I'd translate that, haha, but it's not an insult. He's pointing out how Kageyama was oddly being self-deprecating--that he was acting "weak-spirited" (弱-気). Basically, it's the opposite of the word for boasting (強気, 'tsuyo-ki'). Hinata trusts 100% in Kageyama's abilities; he's just saying it's weird that Kageyama was acting like he didn't believe in himself. 17:20 Everyone always points to the "Hi-" in Hinata, but his first name (Shouyou, 翔陽) is also telling; it means "soaring-sun/yang." 23:45 Yeah, the crazy quick is a little anime-fiction / not super realistic, but there are a few setters who actually do something very similar. Bruno Rezende (pronounced "Heh-ZEN-ji") from Brazil is the most famous. 26:25 In volleyball, any time something other than your shoes or kneepads hits the ground, you're supposed to wipe the spot. The idea is that any sweat would make it easy to slip, and therefore make it dangerous for people to do a running jump. With 6 people on each side, it's actually kinda important. Last one: you're not the first I've seen really relate to Kageyama, and for similar reasons. His character arc is LONG, but rewarding. One of the things I like about Haikyuu is how people relate to different characters; it's almost like horoscope signs or, in Japan, blood types: a (mostly unreliable) way to determine someone's personality, haha. I'm a Suga person, but even just among my friends, there's a fan of almost every player on Karasuno (and players on a few other teams we haven't met yet).

Ugh. I wrote a comment that was way too long, and then somehow deleted it. I'll try once more, but I guess it's a sign I should get back to work, haha. Sorry for the length. Glad that you're relating to Kageyama. You're definitely not alone in that. There are people who see themselves in almost every player on Karasuno, and a few on other teams. It's one of the things I like about the show. 16:06 Hinata saying "weakness" wasn't meant as an insult. The word he said was 'yowa-ki' (弱気). It's the opposite of "boasting." It literally means weak-spirited. Basically, Hinata was surprised that Kageyama was being self-deprecating. Hinata, on the other hand, has 100% faith in Kageyama. 23:30 Yeah, Kageyama's setting is a little bit unrealistic/fictionalized, but there are definitely real world setters who do something similar. Bruno Rezende ("Heh-ZEN-ji") from Brazil is probably the most famous. 26:10 In volleyball, any sweat on the floor could make people who are doing a running jump slip and fall, and with 6 people per side, that's dangerous, so the assistants (or players in practice) are supposed to wipe it up every time something other than their shoes hits the ground.

Oooh that makes sense! Yeah, being pouty and cynical towards himself isn’t really what you’d expect from Kageyama. Thanks for the long posts, I don’t mind reading them at all 🙏🏻
