Happy Memorial Day, Addie. Deadpool (2016) is my favorite X-Men movie and Ryan Reynolds is very hilarious as this wisecracking, fourth-wall breaking, merc with a mouth. If you loved this movie, you're gonna love Deadpool 2 (2018).

This, along with Guardians of the Galaxy, started the kind of self-referential humor that's been trending in superhero movies ever since (though sometimes to an extent that is tedious).

For DP2, there is like.. 4 different versions. Theatrical(R-rated), Unrated, The Super Duper Cut (Extended with 15 minutes, my favorite) & Once Upon a Deadpool (censored/pg-13 version) I think the version on Disney+ in US is the R-rated theatrical cut, but I could be wrong. And yes, there is an announcement video released by Ryan Reynolds about Deadpool 3... may want to take a look at that as well after DP2 (mini reaction hype?!).

Deadpool was everything it needed to be from the comics. This is pure Deadpool. So his healing for one, is much better than Logans, as he literally heals from anything. Brain damage, and regrowing entire limbs. In the comics, Wolverine can also regenerate from a lot more, but in the movies, they are watered down. Deadpool is THE guy when it comes to healing though. And another super important aspect of this movie was of course..... the fourth wall breaking. That is essential for Deadpool. In the comics, he literally pokes out of the comic book panels and speaks to the readers, knowing the writers who make them, and criticize the plot decisions. So always expect that crazy self aware stuff from Wade Wilson. It's such a fun time. Lots of little fun easter eggs in this movie. Like when Wade's bartender friend told him about Agent Smith, he said "It might further the plot." Literallt saying he's a plot device to move the story forward 🤣 Or when there's actually a camera shot on an action figure Wade picks up. That is the old Deadpool design if you remember, from X-Men Origins Wolverine. So once again, just poking fun at things the fans all hated. Same thing with the Green Lantern picture at the start of the movie. Yes, Ryan Reynolds played Green Lantern in a solo movie years back. And..... it was pretty bad. Everyone despised the movie so yeah he turned that into a great joke as well. 😅 A lot of these jokes he says on the fly, Ryan likes to improvise himself. He was absolutely born to play Deadpool, as his comedic timing is just perfect. Deadpool 3 is indeed in the works, and it will be his first official appearance in the MCU, as this is still technically the Fox X-Men Universe. Thats the great thing when Marvel has the rights to a lot of the characters they didn't before. Now they can incorporate them all and it's going to be glorious 🙌 Super happy you enjoyed this movie, Addie! Next one is X-Men Apocalypse. Thats a pretty good one as well (nothing like Days of Future Past) but I really like some stuff they do in there. Can't wait to see it! You're getting really close to the end of the X-Men movies, and probably the best one of them all is yet to come....

Morena Baccarin (Vanessa) also stars in Firefly - only 14 fun episodes and a movie!

Closer and closer to Logan

Mr. Writhms

Now that Disney owns Fox, they said they will keep "Deadpool" R-rated, not to spoil what the fans enjoy. Kevin Feige says "Deadpool 3" will be the very first MCU movie with an R rating. Let's hope! I just wish they would do the same with "BLADE". This was one of your best reactions, Addie. 🙂👍

Speaking of Ryan Reynolds, I also suggest The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017), Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021), 6 Underground (2019, directed by Michael Bay), Free Guy (2021), Red Notice (2021) and The Adam Project (2022). #MoreRyanReynoldsForAddieCounts

So Deadpool is set within the new Timeline created in Days of Future Past when they stopped the assassination of Bolivar Trask and pretty much changed everything post 1973. This is how they were able to reintroduce Deadpool as the events of Origins never happened in this new timeline. So there free to do whatever they want without having to worry about everything before X-Men Days of Future Past. But one thing I did notice was this whole end battle takes place in front and on top of decommissioned helicarrier the same types of ships used by S.H.I.E.L.D first introduced to you in the first Avengers movie. It was originally designed by Jack Kirby for the Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. serial in Strange Tales #135 (August 1965). The Director for Deadpool has confirmed that it's not a S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier stating: "No, it's clearly not the Helicarrier. I just want to say for the record, there's a lot of groups in the Marvel universe who use flying combat platforms. It's not just the Helicarrier. A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) has some. It could have been anything but a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Because that would be outside of the purview of the Fox/Marvel arrangement." Throughout this the director had a little smile on his face. I personally think it's just a fun little nod or hint at groups like this existing in the Fox X-Men universe even though they can't mention S.H.I.E.L.D or A.I.M for legal reasons the X-Men universe had the tech to create sentinels in the 1973 so why couldn’t they also have flying carriers in modern day. Also the solider known as Bob who Deadpool recognises in this finial battle is actually from the comics. He first appeared in Cable & Deadpool #38 (May 2007) and went by Bob, Agent of Hydra. He’s usually an antihero and a sidekick of Deadpool. He was a former member of Hydra but defected to help Wade Wilson, keeping his Hydra uniform which is where his name comes from. Of course for legal reasons Bob couldn’t be apart of Hydra in this film so they threw him in with the Bad guys of this film. New Timeline: X-Men First Class (Start of Both Timelines) X-Men Days of Future Past (Logan in 1973) X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix Deadpool 1 Deadpool 2 Days of Future Past (Logan Waking up Future 2023) Logan In this timeline we haven't seen what the X-Men were doing in the 2000s when the original films were set so it's unsure how similar events played out. I like to think that this timeline has the X-Men wearing more classic outfits akin to the comics even if we don't see it. X-Men Origins a film set in the 1980s is not canonical to this timeline but Wade being a mercenary is still true in this film we just don't see his past. But he never became the awful rendition we see in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. So yeah if you see any changes don't worry pretty much everything post 1973 is open to change.

I feel like this movie will test your Youtube editing skills

Luis Fernandez

Was kinda hoping you would livestream Deadpool, but that's only cos I like opposites.

Benjamin Hall

I was wondering if you were enjoying it - there definitely were parts that seemed to be too much for you. Happy to see you call it your favorite X-Men movie. I think you will like DP2 even more

Jon Hoover

BTW - Addie, I recommend watching the first John Wick before Deadpool 2. Just an FYI.

Billy Dancel

Heyyy, it’s Billy, and this is one of the funniest Marvel movies that I was happy I saw in the theater. We had a group of about 9 of us that just could not stop laughing. My friend knew more than I did about Deadpool so we went opening night. Then, the next night again and probably laughed harder. You recognized Gina Carano from The Mandalorian and I actually missed it when she appeared in the series until someone told me. Stan Lee introducing Chastity is something no one ever expected. Definitely, his most memorable. I’ve mentioned Firefly as a suggestion before, and will probably continue to. You get a familiar face from here in the series. (single season plus a movie) I hope you eventually find out who it is. 3 Patreon movies in 4 days! An absolute treat!! THANK YOU!! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Tell Ollie that he’s missed.

Randolph Tirazona

So! When is Rocky going to make the list?!?

John A

Yeah, they'll cut everything else back except a few f bombs so they can say they kept it R rated despite being watered down soft ass liberal trash

Hok'Tar

The Rocky franchise is really good
