Thanks for reacting to this movie Addie, it was a fun one :) The Terminator franchise is sadly one of those that started strong and then fizzled out. Terminator 2 is an absolute must-see, most folks I know consider it better than the original(as do I). I'm in the minority that enjoyed Terminator 3, I thought it had some interesting things to say. But after that, the movies are just crap, with no coherent plot.

If you watch Terminator 2 (which is a MUST!) I suggest you watch the special extended edition. While the theatrical release is great, the extended edition really fleshes out a lot of the characters and is a more complete movie IMO.

I completely disagree with this. The theatrical release is most definitely the way to go, especially on a first watch (or any watch). The deleted scenes were deleted for a reason, they really mess up the flow and tone of the film. They are fine as extras, but they just don't work in the film. The extended edition, for me, ruins one of the greatest action movies ever put to film.

I also liked T3 and think it gets an unfairly bad rap. As with the "Jurassic Park" series, I just don't think this series' premise was versatile enough to support a long-running franchise (at least not without the continued guidance of James Cameron). But if Addie was willing to watch "Spider-Man 3" and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" for the channel, she can certainly also watch T3 at the very least.
