It's almost time for this month's Q&A! Ask a question, any question!

Comments

Carlo Glingani

What's your favorite genre of music/band/singer? if you have one of course! Do you listen to any punk rock or metal?

Carlo Glingani

Even though I put it in every month in the monthly Recommend me a Movie, would you consider watching some movies with dog stories? For example, I would love to see your reaction of Togo (2019), a movie that tells the story of a real dog named Togo who shares the events and story of Balto, the dog who was dedicated a statue in New York's Central Park

phillip giroux

Will we ever see a man who can swim as fast as a dolphin?

Alex Tan

Hi Addie, how are you today? How are Jeremy and Ollie? As of this Q&A, how long have you and Jeremy been together? In the sponsor segment of your reaction to Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), you were dressed up as "Addiepool". Are you dressed up as "Addiepool" for this Q&A? If you could rent or buy any movie on DVD (in either Widescreen or Full Screen) from Blockbuster Video, what would it be? What has been the scariest movie that you've ever watched this year, how scary is it in comparison to The Shining (1980), and how well have you handled horror movies as of now? How well have you handled critically acclaimed movies that depict heavy topics and/or are very depressing and do you have a particular limit on how much sadness and "interesting" conflict you can handle? Here's a Harry Potter related question: If you encountered a boggart and it shapeshifts into a snake, which is your worst fear, what shape, that you find funny, would you want it to assume, using the Boggart-Banishing spell and saying the incantation: Riddikulus? Have you heard? There are upcoming Wicked themed experiences that are coming to Universal Studios Hollywood & Universal Studios Florida, later this month. Will you react to Silverado (1985) with Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner and Danny Glover? It's an 80's Western that's shot in Super Techniscope (Super 35). Speaking of Kevin Costner, will you react to Dances with Wolves (1990), The Postman (1997), Open Range (2003) and Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 (2024), all directed by and starring Kevin Costner? Will you react to Click (2006) with Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale and Christopher Walken? Speaking of Adam Sandler, since you were freaked out by Kathy Bates's Oscar-winning performance as Annie Wilkes in Misery (1990), will you react to The Waterboy (1998) with Adam Sandler? Kathy Bates plays his mom in it. HOT TAKE: Do you think that Disney has lost its quality with their higher focus on their current IP (Intellectual Property), particularly from themselves, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, do you also have strong opinions regarding live-action Disney remakes, and do you still find Disney content enjoyable, in spite of this perceived quality slump?

Carlo Glingani

what parts of the united states have you visited in your life? is there a particular place that you like more than others?

Chris Shine

If you had to pick, what has been your favorite horror movie you've watched on here?

Alex Tan

Rapid Fire Questions 🔥🔥: Scream (1996) or Scary Movie (2000)? Favorite movie that came out last summer (as in summer 2023), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023), Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning (2023), Oppenheimer (2023) or Barbie (2023)? Favorite movie that was directed by Rob Reiner, The Princess Bride (1987) or Misery (1990)? Favorite Disney movie that was directed by M. Night Shyamalan (pronounced SHAH-mə-lahn), The Sixth Sense (1999) or Signs (2002)? Favorite Haley Joel Osment movie, Forrest Gump (1994) or The Sixth Sense (1999)? Which character from a Stephen King horror movie adaptation creeped you out the most, Jack Torrance from The Shining (1980) or Annie Wilkes from Misery (1990)? Favorite Mel Gibson movie that he starred in, Lethal Weapon (1987), Braveheart (1995), Pocahontas (1995), Chicken Run (2000), The Patriot (2000) or Signs (2002)? Favorite Mel Gibson movie that he directed, Braveheart (1995) or Hacksaw Ridge (2016)? Snakes, jump scares or people leaning? IMAX or Dolby Cinema?

Billy Dancel

Now that I realizedI missed the previous AMA I will have to watch last month’s to come up with some questions. They’ll be in my replies.

Brandon Pierce

What is a particular frequently used cliche or trope in shows or movies that you dislike or simply find annoying?

Matthew Maxon

Hi Addie. New patron here. Has your tastes of movies changed since starting the channel? What kind did you prefer before & now. Oh, I love your hair BTW. 😊

Thats MR. Baldamort

Have you ever been spoiled to a movie before watching it for a reaction and is there any spoiler you wish you wouldn't of known before hand if you could erase it?

Doug

So with US elections around the corner how about an elections movies poll? Any of these sound like good picks?🙂 - All the President’s Men (1976). The classic film about covering the Watergate break in. - Election (1999) A comedy with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon about an election for school President - Milk (2008) Sean Penn film about the first openly gay person to hold office in the US. - The Candidate (1972). Robert Redford running an underdog campaign. - The Manchurian Candidate (1962) A classic thriller about something off in a big election. - Wag the Dog (1997). A satire with Robert DeNiro and Anne Heche about a campaign spinning the coverage of a scandal. - The American President (1995) A rom-com Presidential re-election movie with Michael Douglas and Annette Benning

LaserLamb

Anything within reason. Use your better judgement, be respectful & don't be a creep.

LaserLamb

Would you be willing to watch some "music heavy" movies & have them just be exclusive on Patreon? "The Wall" & "Tommy" are examples, both "rock operas".

Thomas Wetherell

Hi Addie, I hope you’re having a nice fall. Would you be open to putting Burn After Reading on a comedy poll? I just revisited it recently and forgot how underrated and funny it is, I think you’d like it a lot.

Kyle Brandon Sanger

Hi Addie, will you be interested in watching any of the classic Universal Monsters films since your reaction to 'Van Helsing' and 'The Mummy' series?

Kyle Brandon Sanger

Is there a chance that 'John Carter' could be in the cards for a future reaction? It would be a good palate cleanser for November. Thank you.

Troy Sinegal

Hey Addie how has 2024 been treating you? I hope well. And are you looking forward to a new year

Andrew Storing

If a team was put together combining characters from two different universes Star Wars and Marvel, who would you want to be a part of it and what should the title of the teams name be?

Guillaume Huet

Hi Addie! I wish you a fun spooky month. Among the actors/actresses that you discovered along your reaction journey, who would you definitely like to know better as a person IRL?

Doug

Quick follow-up, what about a trope you find kind of funny? 😄 My favorites are: - The Fallacy of the Predictable Tree (from Roger Ebert). ItKs when a character does something that only works if they’re somehow psychic about the future. The name is from a scene where bad guys are looking for Rambo in the woods. One of them walks under a tree and Rambo drops out of it on top of him. The question is how did Rambo know, out of all the trees in the woods, the guy would walk under that one? - The Myth of the Ordinary Day. This is the rule that movies have a limited amount of time, so spending it showing nothing interesting happening is usually not a good idea. Especially in a thriller or action movie, if there is a scene where a character is doing something mundane, then something unusual is bound to happen. A corollary is that if a character is having a birthday party in a thriller, something terrible is going to happen to them. - Hiding Off Camera. This is the trope where a character walks into a room, for example, and gets grabbed from an arm off camera. This only works though if the character has literally no peripheral vision, the only reason we the audience don’t see the hidden bad guy is because we only get to see what the camera films. A similar trope holds for when someone gets in their car and a bad guy pops up from the back seat.

Thats MR. Baldamort

If anybody sees this and you live on the golf cost of the U.S I want to wish you to stay safe from the Catergory 5 hurricane. Safety is number 1 priority, while we all wish Addie Reacts could be number 1. Get to safety then watch addie reactions.

SR2 Prod.

Addie, have we ever made you legitimately laugh out loud in pure hilarity when reading some of our comments here on patreon?

Randolph Tirazona

Alex? For myself and hopefully more it seems not right to talk about Kevin Costner and not mention: "Dances with Wolves" (1990)? Am I wrong?!? Or did I miss something?!?

Alex Tan

I just updated my Kevin Costner question to include all of the movies that he directed and started in, including Dances with Wolves (1990).

drew

since you watch the rocky movies and demolition man. here are some other sylvester stallone movies to watch in the future. the rambo movies, the expendebles movies, cliffhanger, cop land, cobra

Alex Tan

...as well as Assassins (1995) & Daylight (1996). #MoreSylvesterStalloneForAddieCounts

Neversure

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Byrd N. Hand

I'd love to see her do another Coen Brothers poll at some point. Hell, I'd love to see her do more director- and actor-specific polls in general. But, for me, "Raising Arizona" should be next for her.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Hi Addie you seem to up there on YouTube with the top reactors and almost an 100k. You have become very popular. Have you ever been recognised or stopped in the street by one of your followers?

Byrd N. Hand

As much as I enjoy those movies, I prefer reactors to keep their Patreon exclusives to an absolute bare minimum (being able to see the full reactions to the movies/TV episodes should be enough for someone to join a reactor's Patreon, IMO)... and Addie has already done as many Patreon exclusives in the last 3 months ("Jason Bourne," "Poor Things," and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes") as she'd done in the entire previous 12 months. 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

"No Way Out" should be mandatory on any Kevin Costner poll. One of the best twist endings ever.

Byrd N. Hand

If she reacted to "The Exorcist," she'd likely cross 100K subs by the end of the week. Just sayin'. 🤐

Alex Tan

My Kevin Costner question was for the movies that he directed and starred in, but it'll work in a future question.

LaserLamb

Firstly, I'm asking Addie about her interests, not yours. Secondly, I'm asking, because if she does have an interest in that type of movie, it would have to be Patreon exclusive by necessity, not as a promotional feature, because you can't edit a copyright ridden movie like that for YouTube.

PrimadonnaKath

Hi Addie! New patron here, just wanted to start by saying I love your reactions!! I'm curious about what your filming/editing schedule looks like. Do you film multiple reactions in a day or do you tend to spread them out? I imagine watching too many movies in one sitting would get tiring!

BareJordan

After watching all the Rocky movies, have you gained any interest in watching boxing or more boxing movies?

Luis Fernandez

I noticed that you received a few suggestions to watch Rosemary's Baby (1968) this year. Do you have a position on watching movies made by "problematic" directors (for lack of a better term)? Do you tend to separate the art from the artist, or do you prefer to avoid the work altogether?

Luis Fernandez

This month's recs are goofy 2000s comedies to help cleanse the palate after Spooky Season: Old School (2003), EuroTrip (2004), Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004), and Wedding Crashers (2005)

Andre Agog

Are you familiar with Peter Jackson's pre-LOTR movies, such as the Muppets-musical-on-acid that is "Meet The Feebles"?

Byrd N. Hand

Given that she's now reacted to a handful of movies by more contemporary 'problematic' directors Brett Ratner (all 3 "Rush Hour" movies, "X-Men: The Last Stand") and Bryan Singer (4 other X-Men movies, including the very first 2) without any protest (of which I'm aware), I imagine she falls into the former category... unless she was totally unaware of it. 🤔

Byrd N. Hand

Are you phasing out your signature "Heyyyy, it's Addie" video intros? 🤔

Thomas Wetherell

If you do a disaster movie poll in the future would you be interested in putting Deepwater Horizon on it? It’s a true story about the 2010 BP disaster and oil spill that stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell and John Malkovich.

Alex Tan

I'm also wondering the same thing. I got used to seeing her videos open with "👋 HEYYYY IT'S ADDIE!". It gets me pumped up to watch an Addie Counts video.

Billy Dancel

If you could recast Firefly with dogs who would be what kind of breed? Book of course would be a Shepherd 😂

Randy

Dave 1993 & Wag The Dog 1997 might be the most true.

Randy

3 paragraphs/ half the screen ain't a "quick" follow up my guy.

Randy

Don't watch any Adam Sandler movies after Big Daddy.

Alex Tan

There are several Adam Sandler movies after Big Daddy (1999) that I actually enjoyed, like Mr. Deeds (2002), Click (2006), Grown Ups 1 & 2, and Hubie Halloween (2020), so (I don't care what anyone says) I'm still gonna recommend Adam Sandler movies to Addie, post-Big Daddy. #MoreAdamSandlerForAddieCounts

Doug

I considered Dave, it's a fun movie, but it's not actually about an election which is why I didn't include it.

Byrd N. Hand

I'd definitely like to see more variety in her polls; they mostly tend to revolve around either comedy, action, or sci-fi. I'd love to see more director- and actor-specific polls, more pure drama polls (e.g. "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Good Will Hunting;" no 'war' or 'crime' elements to them), more fantasy polls, more pre-'70s movie polls, etc.

Byrd N. Hand

To be fair, and to be as vague as possible so as to not spoil anything, there *is* an attempted run for office at some point in "Dave." Also, "All the President's Men" isn't technically about an actual election, but rather the investigation into shenanigans that occurred during one.
