Happy Monday and LFG, Addie. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) is NOW my all-time favorite MCU movie and my all-time favorite Marvel movie, period. My girlfriend & I saw this R-rated Disney masterpiece in IMAX and we both loved it. It's amazing that Disney allowed this kind of movie to be made under their own radar, with all of the R-rated goodies intact. It even outgrossed Pretty Woman (1990) as the highest-grossing R-rated Disney movie ever made. In conclusion, I can only say that Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) is the ULTIMATE Disney satire ever made by Disney.

Another movie that came out a week before, that I would love for you to watch, is Twisters (2024). #TwistersForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/Jm27YjLnPHc?feature=shared

Awesome movie, I saw it in theater. 😄 I’ll come back to rewatch it later when it’s available to rent or on Disney+, though, it looks like it’s only available to buy for $29 on all the major sites.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is a great Monday surprise! I didn't see this one in the theaters, but I immediately bought it when it came out on digital. And loved it! Loved the cameos! Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman need to do more movies together. They are now one of my favorite on-screen duos. I saw it was already recommended to you, but I'm going to second the recommendation for "Twisters". Definitely looking forward to watching this later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Something I really appreciated about this movie was the opening credits. Deadpool 1 and 2 had the credits at the very end and I was never a fan of that, but this time they acknowledged everyone just like James Gunn did with the Guardians franchise. The quality took me by surprise because this is a Deadpool movie. Deadpool 1 and 2 were made to intentionally look like total CGI, but with the MCU involved they had to raise the bar. It paid off more than well. Also, I don’t think the MCU was necessarily at a low point except with Secret Invasion. Most of the projects they revealed after Endgame were pretty excellent. Guardians Volume 3 and Loki season 2 helped pick up the slack and more. What I was most excited for was for you guys to see Laura again. Dafne Keen was only 10-11 years old when she worked on Logan 2017 which was her big acting debut. Now she’s 19 and after all these years she can still channel that rage. Dafne had doubts as to whether she would be able to portray Laura the same way or better. Now that she’s back, she actually wants to continue with her role. Before my sister and I went to see this movie on opening weekend, I joined for her first time watching Loki season 2. I especially wanted her to see Ke Huy Quan, and like me his character O.B. ended up being one of her favorites. The reactions paid off after seeing the new and improved TVA have a role. By the way, this is the second X-Men film to have Bye Bye Bye. The first one was X-Men 2. However, that’s not Ryan Reynolds in the suit. That was a pro dancer who needed to come up with the choreo as fast as he could. And finally, there are two variants in the Deadpool Corps that I wanna acknowledge. First, English soccer player Paul Mullin appeared as Welshpool. He currently plays in the Welsh club Wrexham which is co-owned by Ryan. You can also see Paul in the doc series Welcome to Wrexham. Our second mention is none other than Tom Holland’s brother Harry. He got to portray his own take on the merc with the mouth. They call him Haroldpool.

I watched all other X-men with you. I was waiting to binge Deadpool until this came out. Can’t wait. 👍

LFG!!!

Must have taken Maximum Effort to resist seeing it in theaters, thanks for saving it for us!

I saw this in the theater, in San Diego, when Comicon was in town. It was amazing the way the audience was cheering, laughing and screaming at all the cameos and jokes and such. Such a fun time.

I loved you reaction, but the two best points where when you saw Blade and especially when you saw Hugh Jackman shirtless. :D

The clip collage set to Green Day's Good Riddance was a salute to the history of the Fox movies. Adding Blade and Electra to the rebels was great. Gambit is a popular character in the comics, but like Deadpool he was never brought to the big screen until X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Afterward Channing Tatum expressed interest in playing the character and he was to appear in Apocalypse and then have a stand alone movie. But the gears of Hollywood grind slowly and sometimes just make mincemeat of your dreams and thus he never got a chance to play the character. Enter this movie. Note that whenever Deadpool or Gambit reference his character they allude to the fact that he seems never to have existed until this movie.

Laura: "You were always the wrong guy. Till you weren't." Wolverine and Laura teaming up healed my heart a bit. This movie had the best Soundtrack of all the Deadpool movies! You know that song that always makes you crank up the volume and then repeat it once it's finished.... My favorite was featured, "Make Me Lose Control" by Eric Carmen and I sang it out loud opening night! What's even better was someone joined in!

The movie is also packed with references and Easter eggs just for the comic book fans which I really appreciated. Leifeld's Just Feet store was chef's kiss. I'm guessing Ryan had a big hand in that since he's always had a ton of respect for the source material and the comic creators.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but NicePool was Ryan Renolds' twin brother.

Doug

I broke down and bought the movie to rewatch it last night. I regret nothing, it’s still awesome, and you can quote me on that. 😉

Thank you for the sacrifice not to see the movie first in the theater so we get a first reaction here, respect.

Addie, your face when Paradox said "my men, my friends" was priceless!

Such a great movie, and yes Hugh looks amazing in this, he said it was one of the hardest movies to prep for, and well seeing his shape in this one at his age, I can see why, just insane.
