Welp not even close to winning this month lol

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 Thanks so much for another great monthly Q&A. Looking forward to watching "Van Helsing" before the end of the month. I hope that you have a great day today, and a great weekend! 😊

Alex Tan

Happy Friday, Addie. Thank you so much for answering my questions. Here are my thoughts on certain things: 1. I would like to congratulate Patrick Blondin. 🎉🎉 You're suggestion of Van Helsing (2004) has just won the Wheel of Addie (which, again, is what my name suggestion for the wheel). Perfect timing now that spooky season is coming. Addie, I asked you if you were going to watch that movie, on your October Q&A last year, and my wish came true here. (LOL the rhyming) 2. Don't give up on The Exorcist (1973). It'll be a lovely day to see you watch that movie. If you can karate chop through The Shining (1980), you can get through this one. #TheExorcistForAddieCounts 3. Of course movie musicals aren't for everyone (it's no wonder why all the 2021 movie musicals failed at the box office) and Hollywood should know that, accept that, abandon the movie musical genre for good, and stick with doing more movies that people actually like, but that's just the way things are. 4. Again, with the remaining franchises, like The Naked Gun, Dirty Harry, The Karate Kid, Pirates of the Caribbean, Men in Black and Beverly Hills Cop, on hold, I do hope that they'll appear on a poll in November. 5. The Jeremy shoulder grab will always be the BEST Addie jump scare EVER! 6. My favorite impactful moment in Forrest Gump (1994) is when he runs across the USA. My favorite comedic moment is when he says "I gotta pee." while shaking hands with JFK. 7. The name Addie perfectly suits you. 8. An expensive thing that I wish to have is a vacation to Walt Disney World with my girlfriend. 9. If I could change my accent, then it should be either a country accent, an Irish accent, a Scottish accent, a cockney English accent or an German one. 10. Watch Totally Killer (2023) and Agatha All Along (2024), on your own.

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls could be easily knocked out and enjoyable, but sure, bring on another multi movie franchise.

Hi Addie! To expand on Frequency (2000), it is a suspense thriller murder mystery that stars Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid (and has several other well-known actors like Andre Braugher and a very young 10 year old Michael Cera). At it's core, it is a thriller but has a very touching father/son/family dynamic to it. My wife and I (girlfriend at the time back in 2000) went to the theaters to see something that was sold out, and the only other movie that was showing at that time was Frequency. We didn't know a thing about it, but we watched it instead, and it is one of our go-to movies to watch together ever since. 🙂

Doug

- I’m a little surprised at no Agatha since Addie watched all the others on the channel, but if the Disney+ shows aren’t getting the views it makes sense not to spend that much time on them. But that does make me curious, I wonder what the next TV series Addie watches on the channel will be? (I think if I got to pick a series for Addie, it might be to watch The Suicide Squad movie and then the Peacemaker series since she seems to be a big James Gunn fan from Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s just me though. 🤷‍♂️ ) - If you want to watch Henry Cavill the first season or two of Witcher are pretty solid. 🙂 - My suggestion for October spooky season is split the movies between comedy and scary. So for instance do a couple of horror comedies like Young Frankenstein and Tucker and Dale vs Evil and American Werewolf in London, and alternate that with more serious, creepy movies.

Byrd N. Hand

Yep, as with Popcorn in Bed there are going to be people continuing to hound her to watch "The Exorcist" until she finally does. 🤨 She's gonna run out of lighter spooky titles for October eventually given the ratio at which she watches them, so she's gonna have to turn to more hard horror titles sooner or later... 👻👻

Alex Tan

That means we better hound Addie to watch The Exorcist (1973). #TheExorcistForAddieCounts

Doug

The comment about Planet of the Apes doing well on YouTube but poorly on Patreon is interesting, I didn’t suspect there would be much of a discrepancy between the two audiences in terms of preference. 🤷‍♂️

Thats MR. Baldamort

You will really anjoy Van Helsing. It has some scary moments but its an action/thriller more than scary. ALSO. Steve Martin starring in "The Three Amigos" is my favorite movie with him. The dynamic and premise of Martin Short, Chevy Chase and Steve Martin in that movie Inspired the movie "Tropic Thunder"

Alex Tan

Say it with me: EXORCIST! ✊ EXORCIST! ✊ EXORCIST! ✊ EXORCIST! ✊ If you all wanna see Addie watch The Exorcist (1973) please respond with #TheExorcistForAddieCounts.

Thats MR. Baldamort

Treasure Planet is the most under rated disney animted film. If you have not reacted to it. Its a must watch. its Science FIction adventure which at the time broke away from the usual norm that disney did.

Byrd N. Hand

Given her comments here, probably not this year. But there's always next year. 🤷‍♂️ But we can keep our fingers crossed for stuff like "Repulsion," "Rosemary's Baby," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "The Omen," "Suspiria," "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," "The Fog," "Poltergeist," and/or "Black Swan." These can all help her build up an immunity, à la Westley with iocane. 😏

Alex Tan

Yeah, and so are Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) & Disney's Dinosaur (2000).

Byrd N. Hand

Yeah, her Secret Invasion and Echo reactions are her only YT videos that haven't crossed the 10K-view threshold -- and they're still not even close... and her reactions to the former have now been up for over a year. (Yeah, I'm a bit of a stats nerd. 🤓)

Thats MR. Baldamort

ADDDIE. The next sports film you need to react to before anything else is "Field of Dreams" with the passing of James Earl Jones, this movie will stand the test of time as being one of his most memorable roles. Yes its a "sports" film but not in the traditional sense. You dont need to know anything about baseball to fall in love with it. Not a technical film.

Doug

It also probably didn’t help that those are two of the weaker MCU series. (Secret Invasion in particular is only 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. Echo is 70% which isn’t great either.) Agatha seems to be doing a little better in terms of reviews, it’s at 78% right now. And glancing at some other reaction channels it seems to be doing ok on the views depending on the channel. (It has about 30k views on Cinepals and about 25k per episode on Blind Wave which seems on par with their other videos.) So it’s possible it’s doing better than the two shows you mentioned. 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

I don't believe we're the only ones here, but, no, I'm not going to stop recommending it.

Byrd N. Hand

I don't know if they count, but I always like to point to the anthology films they made in the latter half of the '40s, particularly "The Three Caballeros," "Fun and Fancy Free," and "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad." If we're talking live-action, I'll go with some of their more suspensful/darker works they made from the mid-'70s through the mid-'80s, like "Escape to Witch Mountain" (and its sequel, "Return from Witch Mountain"), "The Watcher in the Woods," "Something Wicked This Way Comes," and "Return to Oz" (the latter, which, oddly enough, Addie has apparently seen 😮).

Byrd N. Hand

From what I observed, there was still almost zero buzz for the show prior to a few days ago when it was ramping up for its premiere.

Doug

If we’re suggesting sports movies, I’d go with A League of Their Own. 🙂 Awesome film and seems right up Addie’s alley.

Doug

On the topic of Disney, I bet Addie would get a kick out of the show Once Upon a Time. There are way too many episodes of it for the channel, but it’s a fun show (although it goes a bit off the rails after about four or five seasons.)

Doug

I love The Exorcist, great film! Definitely in the creepy category though. But if Addie watches only one really disturbing Halloween movie this year I’m down for that as a good one. (I like The Omen too for classic horror movies but I think Exorcist is the better of those two films if I had to pick one.) As far as more recent movies go that aren’t for the faint of heart, I think I’d pick Hereditary or possibly Midsommar, both from the same director. The main character actors in both are really great! But yeah, they also are both nightmare fuel at times. A good compromise might be Get Out. It’s a solid film, but I don’t think it’s quite as unsettling as the two I just mentioned or as The Exorcist. And she mentioned being interested in a Jordan Peale film, and Get Out is the one that put him on the map.

Mr. Writhms

Since I missed asking a question this time around, I'll ask here and answer for Addie. Me: Are you willing to watch "The Conjuring" this October? Addie: Are you nuts?! Me: Oh well... I tried. Thanks! 😁

Mr. Writhms

Hmm... I wonder if the channel members will take bribes to all add "The Conjuring" into their spinning wheel entry. 🤔

Alex Tan

Me too. The Exorcist (1973) is one movie that Byrd N. Hand & I have to get Addie to watch. If she can get through The Shining (1980), then she can get through this one. Karate chops and Addie screams can be expected here.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Thank you Addie. Enjoyed your Q and A. Not been on the channel much due to traveling the world but looking forward to some family home time and watching films with my movie buddie. 😘

Alex Tan

How about we get Addie to do a reaction collab with Cassie & Carly from PiB by watching the 2000 Extended Director's Cut of The Exorcist (1973). It'll be a lovely day for that to happen. #TheExorcistForPopcornInBed

Andre Agog

Well, at least you know who John Waters is now! While most of his oeuvre probably isn't your thing, I think his fun musicial "Hairspray" might appeal.

Thats MR. Baldamort

I wont do that, plus if that movie wins the wheel, she will absolutely spin again and avoid it and I wont fault her for it. We dont want addie to quit reacting to movies. We need her in a healthy state of mind.

Randolph Tirazona

Ollie is calling foul!!! Dances with Wolves wasn't on wheel!! NOTE: The Predator primarily hunts those whom would make a 'great trophy.' Hmm! Okay! On behalf of all of us I'd like to thank you Jeremy!!!

Byrd N. Hand

I think she meant they've tended to do well on other reactors' channels, but, apart from the original, they haven't really on her YT channel, for some reason (again, hence her making "Kingdom" a Patreon exclusive). 🤷‍♂️

Doug

Yeah, listening again to the answer I think you're right I misunderstood what she meant. 👍

Byrd N. Hand

I don't think Carly would do it (she's reputedly even more of a horror wimp than Cassie), but, yes, I think both Cassie and Addie would have an easier time reacting together, knowing they're not watching it alone.
