Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 Thank you so much for another great monthly Q&A. Looking forward to watching "Black Hawk Down" soon. Such a great film! Have a great day today & a great weekend. 😊

PHILLIP CORNISH

Black hawk down. Love it thank you top members 😘

Thomas Wetherell

My movie won?! Yay! Edit: In all seriousness I’m very glad it won and that you’re excited to watch it Addie! My dad and I are (retired in his case) both Infantrymen and one of his friends from college who I’m also friends with now was a platoon leader in Mogadishu and I’ve also had the privilege of meeting Jeff Struecker, another guy who was there and is depicted in the movie. Thank you for answering my questions again and I’m looking forward to the Black Hawk Down reaction! Hope you have a nice rest of your month too.

Happy Friday, Addie. Thank you so much for answering my Q&A questions. Now, here are my thoughts on certain things. 1. A shoutout to Thomas Wetherell. Your suggestion for Black Hawk Down (2001) just won the wheel of Addie. 2. Now you should DEFINITELY watch the Extended Cut of Black Hawk Down (2001). #BlackHawkDownExtendedCutForAddieCounts 3. NYC was fun, back in March, 2023. I enjoyed visiting Central Park and I even got pictures of the exact locations where they filmed "That's How You Know" from Enchanted (2007). 4. Back to the Future (1985) would NEVER work as a musical. IMO, musicalizing popular movies don't work at all. 5. Action movies really sum me up, although Horror was the final result, when I took the quiz. 6. The waiting of going up is what builds the anticipation, but I usually prefer a high-speed launch over the traditional chain lift, when going up on roller coasters. 7. A LOTR theme park would sound like a good idea. 8. A pre-70s movie that I would definitely suggest to you is On The Waterfront (1954). It was featured in your results of the Columbia Pictures 100 quiz. 9. I'm so glad that you're still open to watching Pearl Harbor (2001). The opinion expressed in the song "The End of An Act" from Team America: World Police (2004), or any movie that has a song that roasts other movies, should not reflect on whether you should watch the movie that's being roasted. 10. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) should work as a stand-alone movie. No viewing of the show should be necessary. #SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncutForAddieCounts 11. When you finish your Mission: Impossible, Planet of the Apes and Karate Kid journeys, I do hope you'll work your way through the Ocean's sequels. #OceansSequelsForAddieCounts 12. My parents & grandparents hail from Vietnam (in my mom's side of the family) & China (in my dad's side of the family). My mom moved to the US in 1975 and my dad moved in around the late 70s and early 80s. 13. You pronounced Verhoeven's name correctly. I also suggest Hollow Man (2000), as an addition to the QUADfecta. #HollowManForAddieCounts 14. If I had a superpower, then I would have super strength and godlike powers. 15. The Hunt for Red October (1990) and Crimson Tide (1995) are some good submarine movies. I also suggest the 1997 Director's Cut of Das Boot (1981). #MoreSubmarineMoviesForAddieCounts 16. The live-action Batman tetralogy would make a great reaction. #BatmanTetralogyForAddieCounts 17. Scarface (1983) is awesome. #Scarface1983ForAddieCounts 18. Oppenheimer (2023) over Barbie (2023) any day now. Barbie is VERY overrated, VERY cringy, VERY unmasculine and VERY disgusting. Oppenheimer is a heavy, Oscar-winning, three-hour-long IMAX movie that is made on the awesome. My girlfriend & I hate Barbie (2023), like... a lot. She & I prefer Oppenheimer (2023) & Evil Dead Rise (2023), the latter of which was her favorite movie of 2023. 19. The Matrix over 10 Things I Hate About You, all the way. 20. A reaction to the Despicable Me franchise would work. I would love to see you do a rewatch reaction of the first movie. #DespicableMeRewatchReactionForAddieCounts 21. A sad dog movie that you should watch is Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009). #HachiADogsTaleForAddieCounts 22. I'm definitely seeing Gladiator II (2024) in IMAX on November 22nd instead of Wicked (2024). 23. (An extension of 18) I went into Barbie (2023), expecting more of a rom-com between Barbie & Ken. Instead, the latter half of the movie became a tug-of-war between the Barbies and the Kens, with the Barbies being the winners. If I ever directed a movie about Barbies and Kens, then it'll be more of an action thriller comedy with Ken as a James Bond type spy that's hired to protect Barbie from the wrath of a new group of Kens, who are seeking revenge against Barbie for stealing their leader's spotlight and reclaiming Barbieland. It'll have guns, explosions (a lot of them), car chases and gritty cinematography (particularly the use of rapid fire zooms, Dutch angles, insane drone shots and shaky cam), all in the style of Michael Bay. However, it'll have some raunchy comedy mixed in as well.

Alex Tan

I do hope that she watches the extended cut of the movie.

Alex Tan

At the time, she was still watching the MCU & X-Men. Remember the Titans (2000) is a good start though. All of Denzel's Tony Scott movies, all of his Antoine Fuqua movies, Cry Freedom (1987), Glory (1989), Courage Under Fire (1996), The Siege (1998), Antwone Fisher (2002), and Fences (2016) would make great reactions. #MoreDenzelWashingtonForAddieCounts

Congratulations Thomas Wetherell! 👏👏🎉🎉 I do hope that she watches the extended cut of the movie. #BlackHawkDownExtendedCutForAddieCounts

Randolph Tirazona

But Ollie wants to Dance with Wolves!!

Randolph Tirazona

I've only seen: "The Nutcracker" by the Pacific Northwest Ballet in 1986. There is a movie out based on the play: "Nutcracker: The Motion Picture" (1986) which is almost exactly like the play! And yes I've been talking with Ames - Hopefully she'll 'inspire you' to watch Dances & Jerry soon so Ollie can Dance with Wolves! lol

LightsCameraJake

Addie, the Extended version of Black Hawk Down is what you want. Very excited for this reaction and thanks for another fun Q & or A

Mr. Writhms

Sorry. I got mixed up. I forgot this is the answer video. I jumped the gun for the August questions. Oops... 🤪

Guillaume Huet

Your reaction channel is amazing Addie. And it keeps getting better. I noticed that your reaction style evolved a bit during these two years, for the best in my opinion. You seem more comfortable and your communicate even more positive energy than in your first videos. Have a nice weekend!

Following up on the dog movie list and avoiding movies that may make you sad about the dog at the end, I'm pretty sure if you take off Marley and Me and A Boy and his Dog you'll be fine. (Marley and Me is a funny, cute movie, but ... yeah, bring some tissues!) So taking those out, and adding Beethoven which I overlooked, here's I think a "worry free" doggie film list: - The Secret Life of Pets - Best in Show - Pick of the Litter - Homeward Bound (1993) - The Adventures of Milo and Otis - Isle of Dogs - Shiloh - Lady and the Tramp - Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers - Beethoven (My personal favorites on that list that I've seen are the Wallace and Gromit movies and Best in Show, that's just me though!)

Doug

Regarding South Park, if you are interested in checking it out but don't want to watch the entire series (which is totally understandable, that's a lot of episodes!), my suggestion would be maybe ask Patreon for suggestions for a handful of specific South Park episodes that would work as stand-alones on the channel, and then follow that up with the South Park film(s). In fact, one easy way to do it could be look at the "Top 100 Episodes of South Park" list on IMDB ( https://www.imdb.com/list/ls070472156/ ), pull out 10 or so at random, and put them in a poll to spend an evening watching the three or four that get the most votes (which would take up the same time as a typical film.) Either way, if you liked Team America, you'd probably like South Park, it definitely has a similar vibe to it.

Doug

I like the Movie Wheel idea, it's kind of fun. 🙂

Chris

blackhawk down! psssst... GoT/HotD

Thanks for answering my question about Stir of Echoes. Sorry to hear that you’ll probably pass on it, but I understand. Although, how can you pass up Kevin Bacon? Since horror isn’t your thing, can I suggest some raunchy comedy? Pretty much anything in the View Askew universe. Those are the movies created by Kevin Smith with his Jay and Silent Bob characters showing up in all of them more or less. The first to start with in that world would be Clerks which came out in 1993 and was his first movie.

Billy Dancel

I think the coolest thing about AMA’s is that it preps me with at least one question for the next one. Take care of yourself, Add-E!

Alex Tan

Snooch to the Nooch! I would love to see Addie watch the entire View Askewniverse. #ViewAskewniverseForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

Hear, hear. Addie, every reaction you do keeps getting better and better. From recording in the bedroom of your old apartment to now recording in the office of your house, that's the one detail that stuck with me. The addition of the side panel and neon sign are the true finishing touches.

Byrd N. Hand

16. 'Tetralogy' is the proper term for a media series that consists of 4 separate works, BTW.

Byrd N. Hand

Not sure how many people will want to see "The Adventures of Milo and Otis" after learning certain things about its production. 😬

Doug

First I’ve heard of a problem. Looking it up it sounds like there was gossip about something in the movie but the American and Japanese Human Societies said it was unsubstantiated. (Basically some people saw the film and assumed it couldn’t have been ethically done in some scene or other but the Humane Societies don’t seem to support that.)

Phil Stubblefield

I second the idea of submarine movies! Both The Hunt for Red October (1990) and Crimson Tide (1995) are fantastic actions movies where the submarine setting supplies crucial elements of the plot.

Byrd N. Hand

Come now, there's no reason to make your "Inside Out" re-watch a Patreon exclusive (there are getting to be a few too many of them, IMO). I don't think anyone will chastise you for putting it on YT; I mean, you've previously done 3-4 re-watches over there and nobody cared. 🤷‍♂️

Alex Tan

I third this idea as well. Another fantastic one is the 1997 Director's Cut of Das Boot (1981). #MoreSubmarineMoviesForAddieCounts
