Great video. I had the same thought about ‘Columbo’ specifically the episode ‘Lady in Waiting’. This however has the ‘perfect’ murder represented in a silent fantasy sequence before it goes wrong in reality.

The whole "perfect murder" idea reminds me of a book I read years ago where the main character plots extravagantly meticulous murders to rid himself of troublesome people--I mean he spends weeks at a time on every single detail. When he's finally caught it's for something he didn't do, and such an amateurish and clumsy killing he's completely offended and and enraged that such a terribly executed deed would be laid at his door.
