This weekend I shot a short film with a friend for the Raindance 60 second short film challenge.

Doing something scary in such a tight time constraint is difficult as there times in horror you want the film to breathe - or have a moment of silence before the jump.  You need to set the scene quickly and efficiently, so here without the yellow vest, you might not get that the man is a security guard right away.  We did shoot more shots of him having a cough and taking cough sweets, which had to be cut for time.

Lighting for night is also a challenge as you have to explain where the light is coming from so as not to draw attention to the artificial lights we have placed. Even when things are dark you still want to see some background detail so he is not stood in a black abyss.

Anyway, for a night's work, I think turned out OK.  I will let you know if it wins anything.

Written and Directed by Simon Stanford - You can see his other short Incubus here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55WzJI5rNCI  - Let him know the Dark Cult send you.

Not bad, but the end was more funny to me than scary because of the editing. I don’t feel like I wasted a minute though.

I admit I first read that as shitscaredseconds.

I expected something to happen after he shut the doors, but not that it was going to be his identical twin brother!
