A favourite Harryhausen scene? For me, it's Talos awakening with the creaking sound effects. The slow ponderous movements of the bronze giant feel right and, maybe my imagination, the surprised look or reaction when it realises it has been defeated just before it falls, smashing to pieces is just wonderful.

I don’t have anything remarkable to say about the subject matter but the video was up to your usual standards and the last 5 minutes or so feel especially passionate and inspiring in a way I can’t remember any of the other ones being (which isn’t to say they don’t end well or inspire). You can’t fake the sincerity or passion in Robin’s voice or expressions either.

I just finished watching as it was very well done. As good as your shorter review videos are, you really excel with these longer videos.

This is an amazing video! I know i'm not the first one to say it, but your longer video are the best ones. I do appreciate the shorter ones, but you really shine when your are talking about artists or movies you like.

I have said it before to people, but your work is so masterful that I just can't believe there aren't more subscribers. This was another incredible experience; I thought I knew so much about Ray Harryhausen, but you revealed so much more. I had not heard of 20 Millions Miles to Earth before, and the clip you showed of the creature drinking water is beautiful, so I am going to seek it out. Interesting that the week you posted this is what would have been his 100th birthday. My favorite Harryhausen creature has always been Medusa, by the way. Clash of the Titans mesmerized me as a child!

A great video. These long pieces of yours are some of your best work as you not only tell, but also show what you are talking. As someone who loved Harryhausen from his childhood in the 60's I know what you meant about the excitement of seeing these films for the first time. As far as a favorite is concerned where to begin: Talos, Ymir, Rhedosaurus, Medusa, Cyclops, Skeletons, Gwangi, Griffin. Kali, or the Homunculus.

Really excellent video, thank you.

Yay, it's finally here! What a terrific overview; it moves along and every minute has a point that furthers your overall thesis--much like a Harryhausen film!

As for my favorite creature, besides Bubo (Owl was literally my first word), it's a tough call. Your mentioning of his taking acting lessons gave a background to something I'd always felt about his creatures in general, and why they seem so real--the deep expressions of emotion through body language and facial expressions. My heart breaks for the poor creature from 20, 000 fathoms, trapped in the roller coaster track, for example. I may have to go with Medusa and her terrible, enraged existence, trapped for something that was done to her, only to die by a stranger's hand to rescue somebody she's never met, as she herself was never saved.

Amazing video! This is the form of production in which you really shine. It's light years ahead of anything that you do in reviews or various commentaries. These features are educational as well as entertaining and deserve to be known as a "standard" (mandatory) reference for anyone who is interested in this particular type of film genre. Many thanks for creating this piece.

As I said on YouTube, I have to go with Kali for the Top 10, simply because of the awesome task of animating her so effectively. However, I do think that Koura's little flying creature is quite sweet.

This video shows your love of Mr. Harryhausen. I remember going to see Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger at the Drive-in.

Classy review. Always loved Ray's work. And to see a tribute to him done by someone with, not only talent, but a genuine passion, helps prove this channels worth.
