Hey gang,

So, the Worlds of Wonder exhibition opened its doors to the press and public yesterday across two special preview events. At 9am, media were allowed in for a hands-off free run at all of the exhibits, with time to photograph, film and interact with everything it had to offer. At 5:30pm, VIPs and ticketed Whovians descended on Tākina for the grand opening, attended by BBC Studios Aus/NZ reps and local politicians.

It was striking to hear what a coup it was for Wellington to bag this exhibition. We spoke with the organisers and curators who were all thrilled to welcome the TARDIS to Aotearoa’s capital. WellingtonNZ CEO John Allen said his city embodied the humanistic values of the Doctor and the pōwhiri prior to the metaphorical ribbon being cut talked of New Zealand’s cosmic heritage and encouraged attendees to be curious and embrace nostalgia.

Full coverage of the exhibition will drop this time next week on Patreon. We shot some great stuff and we can’t wait to share it.

So deeply excited to visit this ! Insane to have a DW event like this so close to Australia again. The last time we had something this significant was the Doctor Who Festival in 2016 (which was delightful). Very very keen !!

That perspective on the show is really interesting! I have memories of the Blackpool museum and this is the super modern version
