I think Nick is showing a pattern, as stated by his exes, that he never shares how he feels or his feelings. With Caroline, the college gf, a little clumsily with Julia etc. I think the last episode with the "cookie got me cookie" bit was the start of Nick expressing how he feels. Now, he needs to work on his tact. I like the way ya'll put it, like a start from ground zero episode for everybody. A refresh

As someone who has been a haunted house actor a couple times I can confirm we do just hang in our costumes and chat about stuff like actual coworkers, but usually not when the house is open and people are going through. It is too hard to predict when people are coming through rooms, and depending on how complex the haunted house is, sometimes people backtrack or wander around. So usually when the ride is "On" we are also "On" otherwise it cab be unprofessional but THE moment we can be out of character we usually are. Depending on your role, the make up, and how active you are, we often get short breaks, water breaks and bathroom breaks. Thats when we hang and talk like Jess and the others did though. In less professional haunted houses... oh absolutely we talk nonsense all the time and just hang in out costumes in between visitors.

I would watch an entire show devoted to people who work in haunted houses. It would be an incredible sitcom.
