Pretty sure in episodes 3, 4, 5 and 6 there was a prediction that Nina wasn't going to last long....episode 9...still going :) Originally airing on April 3, 2013, 'Safe House' is Episode 9 of Season 1 of The Americans. It is the 9th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.4, placing it as the #3 ranked episode of this season and #2 out of all the episodes shown so far.

In relation to characters coming and going (Nina unexpectedly surviving, so far at least) and others leaving the show out of the blue (Amador bleeding out in a basement) this show is simultaneously both fantastic in repeatedly taking you by surprise, and also brilliantly restrained that you aren't rolling your eyes at the latest in a long line of redshirts getting bumped off. There's one or two storylines / characters that don't really work (cf The West Wing's Mandy character), but those are pretty few and far between, and not necessarily agreed by everybody. What I will say is that many of the show's favorite characters - including one that isn't human :D - are yet to appear. :)
