I really love how this lighter episode has so many funny moments like the million dollar bits, Bartlet banging his head on the desk, him in the Situation Room repeating what Leo said, CJ too sexy for many things and IN THE RIGHT END they hit you with the "Why do you want to be president?" And I love how Bartlet doesn't have an answer for two opposite reasons: - The lighter tone of the episode, him having to hear all the stories and then having to wait for a radio signal that arrive right at the moment he just couldn't take it anymore so he's really: "Not today, CJ, really" - The serious one: he doesn't want that. He does not want to be president, he just wants what being president helps you. He wants to create a better world, stop wars, give to the americans a future, create jobs, build schools, develop medicine andcure diseases. He just wants to be something more than being a president. And he just really want to be president not for the title, but for "it lets me fulfill all these things" Something that would look bad on EVERY OTHER PERSON, but not on Bartlet

Right. He sees being President as his duty and he honors it. It's not a desire for power but a desire to do good.
