Loved the reaction and your discussion! Roman definitely is the most malleable by his dad and it didn’t help things that he was essentially caught between a rock and a hard place with his siblings and his dad. He was the voice of reason twice about Pierce and then Mattson, yet got shut down at every turn. Kendall and Shiv demanding the ‘truth’ out of him by looking through his phone, when both were being dishonest talking to Pierce and Mattson secretly themselves, was brutal. It’s no wonder he goes back to his dad who knows how to flatter his ego and feed his need for validation. Meanwhile Connor says he’s above it all, even love, but all he does contradicts that. It truly is a tragedy.

I really wanted to cry during that scene. Connor is what, in his late 50s at best? He still feels like he doesn't have love in his life. In many ways he doesn't. He has essentially been alone his whole life. His siblings and father do not hold him in high regard. The woman who he wants to marry is really only doing it for the money and he wants to be President. That's a pretty tragic tale for a character who is relatively harmless in the world of the show.

It's incredibly ironic that Logan tells his kids "I wanted you at my birthday", when he belittled Kendall in the pilot episode FOR coming to his birthday party instead of focusing on Vaulter. Just goes to show hard (and maybe impossible) it is to satisfy Logan.

I loved how they did that. It's a great parallel to season 1. In many ways it shows the arc that his character has had.
