The wedding date is 11/23/63 - the day AFTER JFK's assassination. Community has a blackface episode that has been removed from the rotation on Netflix. It was an Asian character in "blackface" portraying a fictional elf, which IMO (because he wasn't white and wasn't portraying an African-American) was much less offensive than what Roger was doing in this episode. All of it though is up to a person's own personal interpretation so I understand Netflix not wanting backlash. Maybe they should have just put a lengthy disclaimer in front of that one like Mad Men did here because that show's episode is all about bullying and very little about race. Oddly, Allison Brie is in both the Mad Men and Community episodes. Originally airing on August 30, 2009, 'My Old Kentucky Home' is Episode 3 of Season 3 of Mad Men. It is the 29th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.1, placing it as the #9 ranked episode of this season and #14 out of all the episodes shown so far.

I remember that Community episode, Yikes! We don't support censorship here, yes it is offensive but it obviously was intended to be. A disclaimer at the start of the episode is perfect.

I think you guys nailed it at the end when you were talking about Roger's relationship. Just like Don said, "No one thinks you are happy." It's relationship built on lust from Roger, greed from Jane, and fear from both of them. It works for now because they help each deal with existential problems, but it's like drinking to mask sadness. None of it deals with the root cause of their issues and it's kind of sad to watch.

For sure. They are gunna get divorced eventually. That's just speculation, but who really thinks they are gunna last forever?
