The dog pound It's such an important story and metaphor for a lot of the things in the show. For this episode, I think what's most important about it is that Kendall realized he's not the strong one anymore since his attempt at the vote of no confidence failed so he chooses to do the bear hug/ takeover because 1. He's doomed by being a Roy 2. Maybe if he succeeds in taking his family down, Logan will respect him. It's sad but I love it, btw, when the words " cage" and " dog" or "puppy" are used in the show it usually has some connection to the dog pound metaphor, even before this ep.

Matthew Macfadyen who plays Tom really is great, he just won a supporting emmy award for his performance in season 3! Both him( british) and Sarah Snook who plays Shiv( who's australian) are doing american accents and they're incredible at that

Yes! The dog pound game with Roman was an early sign of the extent to which the kids had to be cruel and merciless if they were ever going to earn Logan's love.

Good! After we watched, Joe and I were discussing him, and agreed he really deserved at least an Emmy nom for his performance as Tom.

LOL Shiv is my favorite character so when people hate her for cheating it's always kind of funny because, by a large margin, her brothers and her dad are way worse. I don't always feel bad for Tom because he puts up with it for a reason. He's definitely getting something out of his relationship with Shiv, it's very transactional but there's not a lot of communication. The art girl calling the Roy family Hitler seems more like when people call the GOP fascists which in all fairness... Logan attempting to be a monopoly on how people get information is extremely dangerous. Liberals and Progressives hate the Roy family, it would be like aligning with Trump so yeah, even though Kendall is "different" he is still part of that family. In this episode, I really felt bad for Roman here but I like how even though Kendall is more like a protagonist, the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree. None of them are good people, it's just funny what sort of things the audience puts a higher value on in terms of morals. Like Logan doesn't get a ton of hate I've noticed like how Shiv does.
