Had to check - average pro soccer players kicks are 70 mph.

Don't be too hard on Doc-tor Sharon (She told Ted not to call her Doc, which think you may have missed complaining about her lol).

ESPN advert for local derby match, back from when ESPN had the US rights.

That's fair. We just thought she was being stand-offish, but that might be the right tactic with a guy like Ted.

I always thought Dr. Sharon was distant, but mostly professional. It is a major contrast to Ted, who overly friendly, but I don't think she does anything particularly wrong (edit: except not waving back, that's rude). And notably, she is warm and welcoming to Dani and the players who come to her. Ted isn't her client and she definitely has a different approach with her coworkers vs clients. She's also a black female therapist in professional sports so I imagine she is used to being condescended to and not taken seriously by coaches. As the audience, we know Ted is genuine in his friendliness, but she doesn't.

Such a great show! They drop so many good hints about where this season is going in this episode and you guys picked up a lot of it. I think with Dani this might be the first time where we see Ted's approach to dealing with things not completely working. While most of his reaction to bringing in a therapist is skepticism about therapy, I think there is some jealousy or maybe just frustration there. He is uncomfortable with the fact that he doesn't know how to help. Side note: using a therapist one partner has been seeing for a period of time for couples therapy is usually advised against. Couples therapists may meet with each person individually while doing couples therapy, but the focus is still the relationship not the individual. Confidentiality and other issues can arise when the same therapist is doing individual therapy along with couples therapy. As someone in the mental health field, I love that they bring in the mental health aspect and it was particularly timely with what was going on in professional sports. Thanks for all the time you guys are putting into getting ahead on these shows. It's very appreciated!

Slightly random, but I would absolutely love to see y'all react to Severance (also on Apple TV). Very different from Ted Lasso, but it is soooo damn good. I heard hype around it for a while, finally watched it and was blown away.

Thank you! We are confident that Dr. Sharon, while she was so helpful for Danny, is really going to be an important person for Ted. I think she was introduced in such a way to make the audience skeptical of her because Ted is so skeptical of her. We are confident she, like so many others on the show, will grow on us once we really get to know her.

She and Ted do have a interesting dynamic throughout the season and I think it is one of the best parts of the whole season. I hadn't thought about them making the audience skeptical of her to mimic Ted's skepticism, but that does make sense. I don't think we aren't meant to be skeptical of her abilities, but definitely wary of her as a person. It's always fun to go back and compare reactions to characters during episode 1 of the first season to the finale of the second season because there are so many turn arounds. The show is great at both slowly adding more depth to their characters and also writing significant character growth.
