Merry Christmas, West Covina!

Thanks for timing this so perfectly! This episode originally took us into the month-long break before the next one. I always like seeing Mel Harris again (Greg's mom). She was great on Thirtysomething 30 years ago. Tovah Feldshuh (Rebecca's mom) is a Broadway mainstay, who just recently took over as Fanny Brice's mother in Funny Girl. Vincent Rodriguez III (Josh) has actually not appeared on Broadway yet. He's done lots of musical theater, beginning as an ensemble dancer and working up to bigger roles, but it's been tours, regional productions, and off-Broadway. I've recently decided that there are three things Rachel Bloom likes to write about -- I call them her "three OOs": boobs, Jews, and poop. I'm all in favor of the first two of those.

I get the California Christmas song stuck in my head a lot. It's very catchy and I can easily sing along with it in the car. Yes, Rebecca's mom is a piece of work. Her song is great, and the exclaimed "Don't interrupt me!" line is so fantastically dramatic......

I'm assuming the language at the beginning is Hebrew or Yiddish because she's Jewish. And in the beginning it said 1901 not 1991.

Only a bit into watching this so far, but tonight was the 4th night of Chanukah so this was excellent timing there too :) Also, 99% sure that was indeed Yiddish in the beginning there! Recognized some though my Yiddish is very rusty, haha. On another note, Idk where in the midwest y'all are, but a blizzard is setting here in Iowa and it's freezing all over this region so it's admirable that y'all still put the effort into making this watch happen on top of existing full time jobs!

It's Yiddish (similar to German, which is why it sounded like that to you).

Yes, we are in horrific weather here, too. (We aren't terribly far from Iowa, but definitely more south, so not feeling as much of the brunt of it as you). And thanks on the Yiddish! As you may have guessed, we uncultured souls understand about 0% of it. Happy Chanukah!
