So glad you're continuing to enjoy this show! In this episode, I love both the zombie competition and Dave's efforts to start a restaurant (and in the end, they both dovetail nicely with Penny's hipster story). The Pangaea Grill presentation was a high point, and I only wish we could have seen that massive menu in more detail -- I did love Alex's advice "Don't try to make the vegans happy, because... you never will." At the time Zachary Knighton (Dave) and Elisha Cuthbert (Alex) didn't have the sitcom credentials that the other four did. He was known to TV audiences only as a supporting player in the SF series FlashForward, while she had been Kiefer Sutherland's daughter in the first couple seasons of 24 (including a famously ridiculous confrontation with a cougar in the desert).

That's where I know her from! I always loved how she was such a danger-magnet on 24. And the cougar encounter was an unintentionally hilarious moment that sticks out.

They're going to make a snarky reference to the cougar encounter in a future episode. I take the liberty of mentioning it, because it's so fast, it's easy to miss unless you're alert for it.
