Glory and divorce?!

I don't know a lot of Ted Lasso like I do with The West Wing so I don't comment a lot, but I just wanted to say this show is just incredible It portrays emotions, feelings, people, situations in a way a comedy never did for so many years Ted Lasso is a pearl so many people overlook because "It is about sport, about Soccer/Football" and they forget that - just like Scrubs was a medical show that used medicine to say so much more about people, Ted Lasso uses football to give us so much

I find myself in real life aspiring to be more optimistic like Ted. Obviously it's fiction but I think it's a perfect example of kindness.

Yeah, this one is a rollercoaster! A win and a break up. Jason plays that so well!!

So this comment got a lot longer than intended, feel free to skim or ignore 😅 This was the first of I think three episodes in the show that I've cried at. It's a testament to the writing and acting that while this is definitely a comedic show, they've set up the building blocks so well that when it does get serious and emotional, those beats hit that much harder. You're right on the money, too, with how refreshing it is that neither side is the bad guy in the divorce. Not only that, but the show spends time giving us insight into Michelle's side of things — it would be exhausting to be around somone so relentlessly positive all the time, and I'm sure she didn't have many people to talk to about it either because Ted's such a good guy, how could you possibly complain? — which you don't often see either. Sometimes couples just don't work out despite there still being plenty of love and respect there, and that's okay. Regarding the Jamie and Henry scene, I'm definitely gonna have to take Joe's side on that one. While there was a bit of dickish "I told you so" there, Ted having just gotten done trying to get Jamie to be more of a team player, then Henry coming in completely starstruck and asking Jamie for his autograph, I think he was genuine. If he'd wanted to get a dig at Ted, he could've refused to give Henry the time of day. Instead, he made him feel special, and that's something Henry will remember for the rest of his life. Which makes it all the more frustrating! Those flashes of kindness and vulnerability that we've seen from Jamie every now and then tell us he's not a lost cause, but by god are those walls of his and toxic masculinity infuriating.

RONALD REAGAN? THE ACTOR?? That will be a tough moment to beat among my favorites on the show.

Agree! Jamie does seem to be the only really toxically masculine guy on the show, which is a really cool choice for a sports team.
