"I Give Good Parent" is one of those ones where the explicit version is DEFINITELY worth listening to. It's right on YouTube, and it's also the version I listen to in my car....

Also for future reactions, it would be helpful to start at the very beginning of the episode to include the recap. It took me a few minutes to figure out that you'd skipped the recap, so syncing was tricky. Plus, the recaps can be very detailed and we like seeing your anticipation based on the recaps!

I am so happy that you guys are enjoying this show! It is one of my all time favorites so I get super excited to see new people discovering it. You mentioned that "I give good parent" has jumped to your #2 favorite song, but you should watch the explicit version on Rachel Bloom's youtube channel because it has so many hilarious other jokes that couldn't be on the CW version. Another song with a great explicit version is "I'm a good person" so if you are interested you should check that one out on her channel as well. I can't wait to see you guys watch the rest of the season because it just gets better and better as it fully finds its groove. You guys are amazing and thank you for watching it!

For this Thanksgiving episode, let me offer my own thanks for your insightful comments! I appreciate the warm words for the late Adam Schlesinger, and it's remarkable that all the songs are so good, everybody can have different favorites and they're all deserving. I especially like "(Hey West Covina) What'll It Be?", as I like the Billy Joel vibe and find it suitable for Greg's mood (plus, as usual Santino Fontano is such a superb actor/singer/pianist). But if you prefer "I Give Good Parent," by all means search out the Explicit version that's available (as for some of the other songs) on YouTube -- it incorporates some explicit language that makes it even funnier. On this rewatch, I'm noticing that every West Covina address they mention (like Valencia's ideal home) is on either South Cameron or East Cameron. That's one busy street.

This song definitely cries out for an explicit version for sure. And I wonder if the use of the geography there is an inside joke for the people of WC.

Thank you! We are loving this show, and will definitely be checking out the explicit version.

I find the explicit version to be UNCOMFORTABLE to listen to. But I mean that as a compliment :)

It's also worth noting that this episode was written by Rene Gube (Father Brah).

Fun Fact: Greg's actor voiced Prince Hans in Frozen. That's what made me watch this show was him. I also saw him on Broadway back in 2019 in the show Tootsie. He won a Tony for Best Actor.

Greg's song in this episode is my go to song for karaoke or an open mic night. I'm not as good as him (obviously) but it's a fun song to sing.
