Crowe was in his heyday in the 80s and 90s. In addition to this and Jerry Maguire, I really love Say Anything. I'm fond of Singles as well, though that's more a time capsule. Cameron Crowe won an Oscar for his screenplay for this movie, but Kate Hudson did not win (she was nominated and considered the frontrunner, but Marcia Gay Harden won that year for Pollock).
