I don't know how far your awareness of obscure old TV goes, but there really was a sitcom named "My Mother the Car" -- one 30-episode season in 1965-66. It's generally regarded as a supreme example of a "how in the world did this get approved and made and aired?" concept: a man's mother is reincarnated in a car and can talk to him through the radio. That's the actual theme song that we hear in one scene.
