Yayyyy. Need to get food and watch this!

There's more after the credits! Right before the preview of the next episode there are somewhat important scenes for most episodes. Hope you can watch that part too before you react to the next episode. :)

Skye

someone correct me if i’m wrong bc this is just what i’ve read from twitter but this kdrama is based on a true story and the creators talked with real north korean defectors to make it as accurate as possible

Please please watch the extra scenes/flashbacks at the end, before the next episode preview. They are (usually) important to the story. Thanks!

Paras

Loi B

Nafi Coté

Raíssa Tonin

Your reactions are the BEST! love you guys ♥️

I KNEW THEY’D UNINTENTIONALLY SKIP THE EXTRA SCENE 😄 I was holding my breath through the end. Haha! There’s an extra scene like the first episode where we see Capt. Ri’s point of view in the forest. Most of the extra scenes are important to the story. Don't worry about the preview of the next episode cause it come at the very last.

Eli Min

Also, the person Captain Ri was talking to in Pyongyang isn’t his dad. But he’s a high ranking official too and he let him borrow his car.

Oh! Wes, Steph, I also wanna watch the end/extra scene. This is my first time watching CLOY, so wanna watch it too. Please can we watch it every episode? Thank you!

I don't think it's based on a true story, but the creators did consult real north korean defectors about how life was like over there, like how they spoke, what the villages looked like, etc. Some of them did youtube videos about it.

Nugget

Guys u missed an extra scene at the end which is really important

Honey

Not RJH cooking noodles, and YSR trying to get him to taste it first 😂😂😂😂

Honey

I read somewhere that it’s not uncommon for communist countries to still have luxury cars available for the top tier elite.

I was also very surprised by the way in which the series portrays the people of North Korea... From what I see, it gives me the feeling that unlike other films, series and documentaries, where reality is perceived more somber... the writers of the series try to humanize the characters, showing how they are normal people with simple, but different lives, even portraying the social and economic disparity they find themselves in... and I think that's great !

Isha

The director definitely toned down the north korean lifestyle for the sake of television drama. I'm pretty sure it's way harsh than what they show. Specially when you've seen interviews of all those defectors

I don't know of anyone said this yet but the aristocratic hierarchical thing you were speaking of exists in both North and South Korea as well as China. A lot of political and military affairs are usually determined by connections to long standing families who usually also largely influence the business world. Many businesses have family centered management hence the tension between the siblings in the show. Thats also probably why the wives of the brothers are so overly invested in the outcome of the company as their marriage is most likely a political one.(I haven't seen the show so this is just a guess). Also just in case it pops up the word chaebol in korean is often used to describe these aristocratic families I don't know if will show up later and how it will be translated if it does pop up but it is easier to use chaebol to summarise the aristocatic hoerarchical thingy as you said.

Wes and Steph, please make sure to watch the extra scene, which is AFTER every episode recap and BEFORE the teaser. Just not to miss any details of the story, you will surely appreciate this similar to the Captain's viewpoint on Episode 1 (forest scene). Thanks!

Kaylie .

I know I'm only repeating what everyone else is saying but next episode, could you go back to watch the ending scene from this episode before you start the new episode? It's super important to understand other parts of the show. Every episode has an extra scene at the end to watch. I love watching this with you and am now looking forward to it every week. Thank you! :)

theGeekOutGirl

Hmmm I'm tempted to binge the rest of this show hahahaha

Seren

Stephanie said she'll watch every kdrama after this... Oh lovely, you're in the right direction!
