To answer what Kiyoko does as manager, my varsity high school team had one and she kept statistics. Like amount of spikes, aces, serves, how many times we fucked up, etc. It helped the coach make decisions on what to work on and who to play. We got the stats at the end of the season. Managers also help run practices, like throwing balls in spike practice.

Not sure if anyone here in the comments have explained it or not - Kiyoko's role in the team is team manager. she supports the team from behind. smaller things like getting/filling electrolyte drinks, laundry, etc. bigger roles are keeping scores for each of their practice and official matches, helping during their training, etc. If you watch other sports anime, their managers does much more but in haikyuu they don't show that much so maybe that's you are always confused of her role hhh

At this point in the show, Karasuno is still not that good of a team with not that much experience together. I feel like this is something that a lot of reacters miss or don’t realize because they have a couple flashy plays they’re able to pull off but in terms of the training they’ve had together, so far it’s just a couple practices matches and one week long training camp and their regular practices. They still lack a lot as a team and Hinata couldn’t be considered a good volleyball player yet. He’s good at the game but as a player with actual technique he is still lacking. What hinata has is an amazing amount of agility and speed, that’s why people call him a monster, what he lacks in actual skill and knowledge of how to dominate the game, he make up in his athleticism. So with all that said, Karasuno had no chance of beating shiratorizawa, let alone Seijoh. You guys said and the video that you felt they’ve already trained as much as they could, well going into season 2 this is where the show really begins. The whole point of the multiple seasons is to show the growth arc, they can’t be good off the bat!! Super excited for your reactions to season 2 y’all !!!!
