V was voted by fans as the most handsome man in the world while Jin's World Wide Handsome is a nickname he created and made popular for himself :) that's why not a lot of ppl actually know that abt V bc he never really claimed it I guess? Or maybe I missed it but I think he never really mention it? But BTS members are the ones who are proud of him for that and will brag about it. While Jin is World Wide Handsome, he too never have claimed he is the most handsome man in the world. As he said, he is only WWH w/c means accdg to him, to his surprise, is that his face is considered handsome worldwide. Lol.

They did mention it awhile back that after Tae’s two running man episodes they will start solo movies and then move to the docu series but given that Hobi’s new album coming out in two weeks and they do full album reaction on patreon I guess their schedule might change..

I feel like V knew that he kinda messed up by throwing and dropping the marker. So later he tried to be really obvious. He drew attention to himself by being brazen with "what?? I didn't say anything about having less time to complete the task, you must be mistaken :))" and he protected the team leader by doing that. He does that in mafia games sometimes, he's good at diverting people's attentiom

Thank you so much for this reaction! It makes my heart really happy when people react to content from Tae. You guys respect for every member is so refreshing to see! V is so smart and his comedic timing is on point! Of course our seven members are so loved and popular in Korea, but I must say, variety shows line up to have tae, he's so charming and charismatic, he just has this friendly nature that creates amazing chemistry between him and every cast and it makes the show's ratings go up :)

This was such a fun episode to rewatch with you! I was so impressed in how quick you pick things up. Firstly when they refer to Tae being a fan of the show… the messages they show they don’t translate but… Tae posted on weverse and said he wanted to play cards for caramel years ago. Which is part of a long running game series that they play in running man called Tazza - which is a reference to a hugely popular film called Tazza (basically card sharks) since gambling is illegal in S.K they play for caramels in their version. They also at the end tell Tae to come back and play for caramels. Also yes Tae is absolutely known for his beauty in South Korea and worldwide. He’s known widely in k-media as the ‘ultimate Idol visual’. His official nicknames by Korean media are ‘V-Jewel’ pun on V, Visual and Jewel. Other ones roughly translated are: ‘National Treasure of South Korea’ ‘Crazy beauty’ ‘Your face is our national welfare’ ‘CGV’. ‘CGV doll’ ‘Beauty of the 5 Olympic Rings’ (because he can be many nationalities at once and ideal of beauty in many nationalities. He also used to be called Varbie during his 2017 era etc. He is also often referred to as a sculpture or statue in subs or by media - which is a South Korean term for really beautiful people. Basically you’re a Greek/roman statue that belongs in a museum or gallery. I’ve not seen people be referred to as statues outside of S.K. Incidentally even today there were articles about him on naver as he was named in a tv show during a segment by a famous k-celebrity make-up artist as their most impressive face they worked with. He comes top in survey’s of Korean plastic surgeons for the ideal of beauty… as well as being voted by photographers and make-up artists as the most good looking idol. This is in addition to his many many most handsome/most beautiful awards by many international publications and magazines as well as the polls he wins by netizens. Endearingly if you notice whenever the members mention his nickname ‘number 1 most handsome man in the world’ title he always gets shy and defers and says no there is Worldwide Handsome which is Jin’s nickname for himself. Tae and Jin are the official visuals of BTS. Both are also considered as ‘Flower Boys’ which is the ultimate title for good looking idols in S.K. South Korean beauty standards are also very set and rigid. You either fit the ideals or you don’t. Appearance is talked about in a very different way to the west. Which is why it’s the plastic surgery capital of the world. Also Guides don’t tend to include Tae’s nicknames so I’m not surprised you don’t know this as well. But you will hear it in content esp now that you know. But if you remember the Suchwita episode and Yoongi and the editors and writers introduction for Taehyung was ‘the worlds no.1 most handsome man and the most beautiful face in the world.’. Also if you notice editors and caption writers will often refer to Tae’s visuals. Coming back to this episode HaHa is actually a rap artist. His main genre is k-reggae! Kim Jong Kook is also a very famous singer. He won daesangs in 2004 etc. And he’s always been known for his muscles! He is famous for his very high pitched singing voice which doesn’t match his face and body. His ballads are beautiful. They are now more well known as entertainers but neither are comedians unlike Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Suk Jin and Yang Se Chan. Also in South Korea you take exams for broadcasting stations/networks to debut as comedians etc. So you will have a certain class ‘08 comedian for example. Song Ji Hyo is an actress and she is also famous in South Korea for being very beautiful. So-min is also an actress and while to most westerners is considered beautiful unfortunately doesn’t fit the rigid ideal of South Korean Beauty as such… so there is a big gap in how she is perceived versus Ji Hyo. Which is why you see the running man members etc joke about it too. Also I’m linking two special clips which weren’t included here for you. One was pre-released before this ep, and is the longer version of the soap game… it’s absolutely hilarious but it doesn’t have subs. the Korean captions refer to it and reference it but it wasn’t translated here. They mentioned kakao talk messages with him too in some other episodes. Yang Se Chan also hosted Tae’s fan meeting before he appeared again on Running Man. The next episodes he appears in are sooo good too. 💜 P.s I think you will really like the spotify Korea content that Tae and JK each did when they were promoting their album/ singles. They are very very fun and like run episodes too.

ohhhh thank you guys for this reaction Tae is well known for being so handsome and many korean plastic surgeons said that people usually have Tae's face as an example of what they want to achieve. Also he is so good at variety shows that is why they want him to come another time, and I'm so excited you will watch next episode. Tae has a great personality and gets along with everyone so fast that's why they call him social butterfly and everybody ends loving him so much

I thought for SURE Tae was chief of thieves, and I knew he was a thief by his reaction when they told him lol hard to explain how, but his face was the face he makes when he starts calculating. Like "battle mode activated" 😂 but I can't believe it was Jongkook! He seemed innocent!~ but in retrospect, it made so much sense. Like letting Tae do absolutely barely anything in the first round and stood there watching

Even though I'm more used to it by now it's still crazy to me how much they talk about someone's looks in Korea in general and how much weight/emphasis is put into them especially since they have the most rigid beauty standards I've ever heard about. Like they will call straight up beautiful (imo) people ugly or not so good looking haha

OK Wes, you need to start a YouTube variety channel with Steph and your friends. Using the games from Run BTS and Running Man. Without all the production..haha I would totally watch it. My younger brother actually introduced me to Running Man a long time ago. But i had no idea who any of the people were on the show. I watched a few episodes and loved it. I don't know why i didn't keep watching it. Anyway, This episode and the one with Jin were so funny. Thank you for the reaction!!

- Haha was a reggae singer from early 2000s, he transitioned into more of a comedic variety show dude. Kim Jong Kook is also a singer from the 1st generation of Kpop, part of a very successful group called Turbo. Seok Jin was a singer from before Kpop. Jihyo and Somin are actresses, former member Kwangsoo (tall guy) is an actor. Se Chan is an actual comedian and Jae Seok has a comedy/hosting background so much the same as he is now. - 28:56 Haha didn't say V was an alpha male he said "상남자 / sang namja" which translates to tough guy, but more importantly it's the Korean title of the BTS song "Boy in Luv" - X-Man is a show a lot of them use to be on, which was a hugely popular variety show that Jae Suk hosted. The show always had an "x-man" who is a spy or "mafia" that would sabotage their team.
