Yeah, it's illegal for Korean citizens to gamble anywhere, even outside of South Korea. There are even casinos inside South Korea for foreigners only.

also, someone correct me if i'm wrong, i'm pretty sure that the case is actually based on a real life, on a couple that were undergoing a divorce trial (?) but the husband dies in the middle so the wife and the kids get his money.

Yeah just like everyone is saying. It's illegal for them to gamble tho there is lottery. And even outside the country they could still be punished especially for public figure like BTS, imagine if they were caught going inside casino in las vegas even if they didn't gamble it'd be their biggest scandal.
