Man, I remember the first time I saw this episode...Michael's evil laugh gave me chills! What a twist! Fun fact - of the main actors, only Kristin Bell (Eleanor) and Ted Danson (Michael) knew about the twist ahead of time. Great reaction. I was waiting hoping you wouldn't figure it out. Back when it aired I guess I really didn't look online much but as far as I know nobody really figured it out or it wasn't at least widely talked about for most of the audience or article writers to figure it out unlike most shows twists. It really took most everyone by surprise as far as I know. I was watching live with my parents and we were kinda mind blown kinda like it showed Eleanor. When I first watched the season I really liked it and got into it originally for Kristin because of my love for Veronica Mars and then I thought it was a well written show and really funny but when the had the twist reveal I looked back and thought it was maybe one of the best written sitcoms or shows ever. The twist was just huge itself but like Michael explained when you look back on the season you see how everything he did was to torture them every time he talked to them or had them do stuff or make decisions. It worked before just thinking things were off or wondering why people would act like that in the good place or certain things would be considered ok or good but once the real happens you realize why it was that way all along.
