Dev Update 7/18/22 (Patreon)

Hey friends, hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

First thing's first: The Student Loan is now available to $2+ patrons. Check it out and let me know what you think! The public release will be made available next week, on the 25th.

Second thing's second: The script for FiN Chapter 3 is done. Took me longer than I'd hoped, but it's finished and now I just need to get through the rendering portion of things. I'm still aiming for a mid-August release, which gives me about a month to complete the work. I think it's entirely doable. I'm going to hold off on announcing an official release schedule until I'm a little closer to the finish line, but look forward to an update next month.

In general development news, I've been playing around with different tools in Daz Studio, like texture shaders and billboards. What a revelation! Texture shaders basically replace the texture on a selected item, allowing me to really diversify/change up otherwise standard objects like pieces of clothing, building interiors, etc.

It's always kind of a bummer when I'm playing a game and see the same location set or article of clothing I've seen in a dozen games before it. (This could also be a sign I'm playing too many adult VNs..)

Billboards are basically just character cut-outs that I can paste into a scene, to fill it with a little more life. Every CG character I insert into a scene increases the render time of a scene, whereas these little cutouts do not. You can see them at work in the images above with Gabby and the MC.

Also, a fan requested some images of Gabby and Brittani to convert into signatures, for use on forums and such. It's immensely flattering to have people want to essentially advertise the game for free, so of course I had to make these.

I'd been meaning to make some signatures for the game for a while, and really just haven't had the time.
