Hey everyone! I know its been a while, about a couple weeks ago I must've got hit with a stomach bug or something that's been going around because I've been feeling really fatigued and nauseous for the last couple weeks. Went to an urgent care thinking it was COVID, but the results said I didn't have it so that was relieving.
I normally never get sick so it just hasn't been a very good time for me with doing literally anything other than feeling like death and having dreams of doing outdoor activities. I'll probably get checked up soon with a real doc, but appointments are booked several weeks out so I'll most likely be dead by then lmao. I've been taking medicine to help with my appetite and nausea which has helped but the feeling's still kinda there, ya know? I'm hoping this blows away soon so I can actually get some more progress done for this scene
The Actual JoA Update
Either way I just wanted to let you guys know why I haven't had anything out, but before I got sick I was able to do a little bit!
It's not much as I was planning on doing, but we're essentially half way there with the river scene. It's not a big scene, but I want it to be fun and all that before the final showdown. It's fun to make so far, but Mine-imator's performance and real-time playback is utter ass with this scene so I'm trying, but I think we can power through it when I'm feeling 100%
- I was able to (mostly) fix the jagged shadows for the opening shot for this scene but the other shots may have some goofy shadow bugs so I'll do my best to hide them or have them not be as obvious, but it won't be as bad as the last WIP's last gif
- Also took some inspiration from MC Dungeon's stylized water to kinda give the water a more pleasant look! It's not perfect, but it works WAY better than the default water the software has by default
- Lastly, I decided to add Amber as a little cameo in the last shot! Long story short, I don't like to have multiple fully-rigged characters in animation simply due to Mine-imator's limitations with performance when handling models as complex as these. So Amber's appearance will be brief for this little segment but that's about all she'll be in. I haven't animated the rest with her in just yet if you're wondering
I'm just gonna focus on getting better because at this rate I'm not really getting anywhere with how I'm feeling lately so I may be a little inactive (again) for a week or two. Really hoping it doesn't last that long but you never know anymore
