Thanks for your patience over the last few months, I just wanted to let you know I'm about to erupt into a torrent of content.

All three Borrowing Blockbusters on the Alien series are basically done. I really wanted to post the first two today as I'm away camping tomorrow. But I can't bring myself to do it before they're as good as they can be, and they still need some tweaks. (Mainly audio balancing, the edits are locked.)

It was so liberating making them for Patreon and not having to worry about gore/violence/swearing/nudity. Incase it's of interest I'll post the spreadsheet listing all the changes YouTube will require, just to show how limiting it's become.

By the time I get back from the Welsh field I'm lucky enough to be holidaying in, I'll have finished the script for the martial arts movie video I've been planning, and those tend not to take as long to edit as Borrowing Blockbusters.

So Borrowing Blockbusters: Alien in the 80s and Borrowing Blockbusters: Alien in the 90s will both be live in a couple of weeks at the most. Borrowing Blockbusters: Aliens will follow about a week later, and Best Worst Martial Arts Movies shouldn't be more than a few weeks after that.

Thanks, as always, for your support!

I also am stoked for these, but I'm a little nebulous on that third video. 80's and 90's editions are self-explanatory, but what is the third video with no annotated decade? As for watching through Patreon, I use my smart TV as a computer monitor. That may not work for everyone, but it works the business for me.

I think the idea is that Alien (1979) was so widely imitated that it warranted being split into two parts, while Aliens (1986) fit into one video. On the surface of it, it tracks with my experience of B-movies; Alien seemed so achievable because of its restrained plot and setting, while Aliens was much more grandiose and something far fewer attempted. Predator was a better movie to copy at that time, because you'd only need a 16mm camera, a forest preserve and a single guy in a shitty rubber suit.
