Midweek Mammaries - Blender (Patreon)
Content
Hey eveyone, hope that your week has started well!
I just wanted to pop in and give a behind the scenes post indicating the 'roadmap' of sorts that I'm planning on moving on this year. If you're not interested then have a quick watch of the above above and feel free to bounce. ;)
With a version just released and in view of the many endings waiting to be made for The Pill, it seemed like a good time to re-evaluate my tools of choice. As some of you know, I primarily use Daz Studio, which has benefits but also significant limitations.
If you see an animation out there with silky smooth bouncing boobs, odds are it was done in either Blender, Maya or a combo of the two. Daz is a bit archaic in what's called "soft body physics" (which allows for those impressive jiggles). The others also allow for motion capture, which is something I plan to incorporate into my work this year (and if the timing is right, will play into the aforementioned endings).
Daz's main boon is its vast capacity for character creation. You'll may note that many of the impressive animations out there often use Overwatch (or other well known) characters. That's because someone created copies of the models which work really well with Blender. Making new and unique characters in those programs is a long and arduous process.
Wanting to use my own characters has kept me in the Daz sphere so far. But after spending a full day on Tuesday I think I've finally cracked how to get Daz characters (e.g. Trish, Belle and Luca) into Blender.
The attached content is some trials I have done. The animation might not seem revolutionary, but after a one day or orientation and the fact that it is the first 3D animation I've done not in Daz Studio in over a decade I'm happy with it. The Blender render engine also doesn't look that bad too, maybe not as good as Daz's, but still impressive.
I've been slowly tiptoeing my way towards learning Blender for over a year now and figure it is now time to jump in. But as anyone who has learned a new program (especially those who have tried Blender) that takes time.
So for the next few months, I'm going to be balancing my time between learning Blender, converting the endings to animations (first step there is making scripts for VA's) and of course, making the monthly rewards!
If that sounds like a lot, it's cause it kind of is, but fear not, whenever I figure out a new trick in Blender I'll share it out, and unlike the big version updates, I'll be releasing the ending reworks as I go.
In all I'm very excited by it all, and all the new possibilities now in front of me.
tl;dr I'm working on learning Blender for future animations.
