The game is NOT using/applying Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.

The HDR implementation is misleading and cumbersome but can provide fairly good results once everything is setup correctly.

The game has "Display Setup Assistant" tutorial which let's you pick a value between -100 and +100 for Peak HDR Brightness (with each step corresponding to a specific target in nits):

and then offer additional control over exposure and saturation:

on top of that, after this tutorial you can access to a "Display Settings" submenu where you can also change Peak HDR Luminance in a numerical format between 1 and 10 (with each step corresponding to a specific "range" of actual nits).

If you have an LG OLED and:

> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:

  • Set Peak Brightness slider (from Tutorial) to: 34 (which is around 4.000 nits);

> you're using HGIG:

  • Set Peak Brightness slider (from Tutorial) to: 19 (which is around 800 nits) or 21 (for G2) or 25 (for G3).

If you don't have an LG OLED and:

> you don't have an HGIG option:

  • Set Peak Brightness slider (from Tutorial) to: 21 (which is around 1.000 nits);

> you're using HGIG:

  • Set Peak Brightness slider (from Tutorial) to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV (in nits). See the table below to find your corresponding nits to the game value:

In all cases leave "Exposure Adjustment" slider to: 0.0 EV (Default) and "Adjust Saturation" slider to: 100 as this corresponds to a balanced/correct exposure and gamma.
