Mega64 Version 2, Episode 03: "And Suddenly, Ezra Didn't Feel So Alone Anymore" 2005 (Episode produced in 2005, released on DVD in 2006 (Mega64: Version 2).

Written/Directed by Rocco Botte, Derrick Acosta, Shawn Chatfield

It's time for a new direction for the Mega64 system- how about going mobile? The MSFP (Mega64 Sixty Four Portable) is the new hotness, AND it's backwards compatible with everything? What could go wrong? Well... maybe everything once an annoying commentator named Benny won't leave the screen of the entire episode! It all collides in Mega64 Version 2, episode 3: "And Suddenly, Ezra Didn't Feel So Alone Anymore!"

PRODUCTION NOTES:

-The California Games segment was originally released on DVD with select issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly in 2004.

-The final episode to be shot on a consumer Handycam and entirely produced in 30fps. The later episodes establish a visual rule of story segments being in 24fps, and the skits/"public game experiments" being in 30fps.

-Horatio's mother is played by Derrick's real mother.

-A random driver thought "Uncle Sid's Family Roadside Bazaar" was real and pulled up in the middle of the shoot to buy something.

-When the Version 2 DVD was released, many asked if "Benny" was a "feature" that could be turned off. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

NEXT TIME: Nothing will ever be the same. A figure from Dr. Poque's past has returned- but following closely behind is a terrorist group bent on taking over operations for good. An entirely new cinematic experience awaits you in the next episode- a chapter aptly titled "What The Hell Happened To Mega64?"

Solid episode. I hated Benny when I first watched this, though I suppose that's kinda the point. Wonder if we'll get the DVD extra that had him removed, my main gripe was not being able to see all the text put up during California Games. I had no clue about the framerate thing, that's some cool trivia, love hearing about the technical side of things.

We will definitely upload the version without him later as we are all quite tired of Benny at this point
