I feel like kids would like this album - not to say the Basement Tapes are juvenile but there’s a catchiness to a lot of the songs that younger listeners could get along with. And not just because they keep singing about juice and apples and stuff, but that helps. I can see a kid wheezing ‘pleeeeeease Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Henry please’ along with the song. Sometimes when I’m feeling under the weather and can’t sleep I have song lyrics or sound clips looping endlessly in my head - ‘LO and BEHOLD, LO and BEHOLD’ was my late-night nemesis this week. Not something I would have grabbed for myself to listen to but I had a good enough time listening to it.

If you watched Comedy Central in the early 00s you might have heard the This Wheel's on Fire cover as it was the theme song to Absolutely Fabulous.

I didn't know the backstory to this record, but while listening i thought it sounded like they were having a lot of fun. You can hear them laughing in some songs and making little mistakes here and there. I really dug this one.
