In 1984, a man called Ken Webster apparently began communications with someone from the 16th century, using his BBC Micro. Strange perhaps, but then, the content of the messages was perhaps stranger in both it's structure and information. To many, it seemed impossible that this could have been faked, especially to Ken Webster, who wrote a book about the ordeal; The Vertical Plane. In this video, I delve deep into The Vertical Plane and the mystery of the Dodleston Messages.

Hey folks, hope you're doing ok. Whilst I was ill, I managed to read The Vertical Plane, and this is the resulting video. It was a bit of a mammoth task, which in all honesty, I wanted to go a lot deeper with. But with it already edging over 40 minutes, I thought it was probably enough. Maybe in the future, I can follow up the other bits I mention within.

Thanks to Snorkers and Ponder for lending their voices. There may well be other voices you recognise within (apart from one, who I had to omit from this video, because she's currently ill. Hopefully, I'll be able to sneak her into the final cut. In this version then, I'm voicing Debbie instead)

Adored this one. Only thing 2109 could have added was the "odd invalid input question mark character" from some Edu program that scared me shitless as a kid. It was akin to an 80s evil Clippy. Speaking of Edu progs, Martello Tower let's play? :D
