Hey hey Patrons!

Well, the final prison break in a time-honored and storied tradition of prison breaks within the world of Avatar comes to a close, and holy hell does it do so in spectacular fashion!

We're rocking PART 2 of THE BOILING ROCK and it's among our faves and has some moments that truly leave our mouths agape.

What will become of Sex-Crime Phil? Is Sokka a secret Jedi? And HOW UNREAL IS MEI's TURN ON AZULA!?!?

“You miscalculated” “No YOU miscalculated” 10/10 comeback lmao. You can tell how much that upset Azula because she actually lost her temper for the first time in the show and responded defensively. Anyway, next episode is by far one of my favorites of the show, really looking forward to that reaction ;)

I love that you referenced Hot Shower? Now I want dabs....ahem. EDIT: OMG. Well....You totally....said....what I said....about you....two episodes ago....I feel like a cunt. I love you forever. Never mind my sass. You're officially awesome forever because you immediately recognized the cool writing.

we finally get dark katara next episode, one of my favorites! also while i would love to see what yall would do in a writers room, i also know that like 90% of that writing would be dick jokes, beheadings of randomass characters, and references to b movies from the 80's/90's. thats why i feel like if cobra kai was R rated it would be the kinda show you guys came up with, and i would love to watch that!

A top 5 episode for me for sure (as long as we're counting the finale as one episode)

I love Mai

omg I've been waiting for this my whole life

The only thing I don’t like about this episode is that when Sokka is put in the lineup, the warden should have immediately seen that sokka is water tribe because of his blue eyes. Every fire nation native has bronze eyes. Realistically, they would’ve known Sokka was the imposter right away because of that. Also he’s a literal child standing in a line of grown ass men. Also, Mai and Tai Lee should have easily been able to escape those NPC ass guards considering she took down half of them just to help Zuko. Other than that, great episode

Just binged all of your ATLA reactions over the past 3 days, and I'm so glad to be caught up! You guys are hilarious and insightful. REALLY looking forward to seeing you through to the end of ATLA, and then into Korra. There are still some insane treats in store for you guys, but I am highly spoiler-averse, so no hints! Enjoy the masterpiece. Seeing people enjoy this show for the first time, like I did with my kids when it first aired, is one of life's true delights. IROHED!

wow, I don't even eat his food but I appreciate Jim too. what a dream neighbor. also, LOL I mean I don't wanna associate azula with girl boss but honestly you have a point. Never agreed with the Cersei comparison though, but tbf I hated Cersei, I thought she was wildly incompetent and petty on top of unfair. Which...maybe I should reexamine what I like in characters lol. But Azula I think actually shows genuine flashes of concern for Zuko and shows a lot more respect for her responsibilities than she does her own desires, and that's something I always find somewhat sympathetic. She definitely relies on her friends more so than she admits, and in my dumbest, Freudian hat I wonder if they functioned as maternal placeholders? Bc they're girls lol. Not the best reason, but idk. Really she needed people who she could demand love her more than Zuko, and I bet Mai's crush was some kind of sick bet Azula had subconsciously made with herself. Either way, I love this episode for what it means for her though. Mai's line to her is just so brutal, especially in the face of Azula thinking she's a "people person" LOL. She is good at instinctively grasping people's desires tbf, like with Zuko in her introductory episode. I also love that it's Mai who starts this tiny revolt, bc Azula mocked her earlier for being "too scared to care about anything" when really, Mai just learned how to play her cards close to her vest. Azula is genuinely good at zeroing in on people's motivations and what strings to pull to control them, and she was right with Ty Lee (who's much cleverer and aware imo than she gets credit for) but she misjudged Mai whose blank face finally came out on top. Like if I was allowed to produce one crazy and random ATLA episode, the B plot would probably include Mai and Koh somehow facing off. Bc I feel like they could just stare into the other's face for eternity...can't imagine how that would end though. Maybe it wouldn't, and they'd both just calcify and become like stone figurines. Anyway, brilliant episode, love your reactions! Insane that we only have a few left.

Some Fire Nation people have blue eyes. Chitsang for example.

rickie woodson

firebenders are not johnny storm. or the og human torch john hammond.

now i can finally say it: RIOT!!!!!!!! best single line EVER lol

SeanTankTop

We appreciate the carefulness around spoilers!!! And yeah I will prolly start binging other ATLA reactors after this.

SeanTankTop

Don’t feel like a cvnt! You were right on the money and eventually so was I! 🖤 you too! The trope has to exist and your lizard brain needs to go there first for you to pivot, counter and do something really interesting or atleast recognize something as a bette and more interesting choice!

SeanTankTop

Yeah we’d be a mess. Or Atleast we’d be the corner of the table that convinced the rest to make Meelo a fart bender... 😳 oops! 🤨

David Proby

This is pretty much a turning point in Azula’s psyche. How she using fear to control people to feel superior, just like her father. Remember what she said “my mother thought I was a monster... she was right of course but it still hurt” Mai saying how she loved Zulu more than she feared Azula is similar how her mom viewed her as a child. So you get to see the psychological cracks behind the mask

I’ve been waiting for the Mai and Tai Lee moment since you guys first saw them 😭

SeanTankTop

One of the most ACE moments in the entire show, and that's a lot of fucking ace moments

She's evil as fuck but Azula learning from an early age that fear and power is the only way to make people like you is kinda sad/some weird form of child abuse.

are you guys posting a new episode today? I've been waiting all week...
