Hey Hey, Patrons!

We're back with another Uncut "European Style"* Reaction to an absolutely bonkers episode of Invincible!

(*you know we love any chance for a dick joke*).

Join Sean, Morgan and Dustin for Season 1, episode 5: That Actually Hurt

I think we can all agree that there has ALREADY been some insane stuff in this show....but holy hell y'all, this episode is gnarly!

In an attempt to prove his usefulness as a superhero, Mark (Invincible) agrees to help Titan go up against the crime boss Machine Head.  The two are ambushed by a crew of supervillains and quickly outmatched.  As the battle rages on they are joined by the Guardians of the Globe but it's still not enough as the entire team suffers an especially brutal beat down at the hands of Battle Beast (aka Lion Thor).  After a few relatively quiet episodes, we have just been served another hyper-violent reminder of what this show is capable of.

I like to think that Omni Man was scared of Battle Beast lol. Dude seems crazy powerful.

I was thinking like, yo, Cecil. I know you're putting all your chips down on Invincible but how about this here Lion Thor Mfer! Dude straight up bodies Mark, seems like he could prolly square on Nolan pretty well. But who knows, maybe he doesn't wanna piss off Veltrumite!

man i love this episode, and yeah i know there being no actual characters deaths might feel somewhat cheap, but this is where i compare this show to like an anime too. you get tons of blood and brutal fights but even though characters can spill enough blood to fill a pool and break their body all over, they still recover and actual death is more rare to see, usually reserved for only a few key characters and to drive the plot forward/show how threatening an antagonist is. watch jojo's bizarre adventure one of these days and you'll see what i mean. still, i love this show, its the kind of superhero stuff i always wanted. you know realistic but not in an edgelord way. and the brutality only makes you appreciate the heroes even more.

You made a comment about the henchmen of these super villains. Of course there’s a show about that. The Venture Bros. If you haven’t seen it, at least check it out. It’s a spoof on the old Johnny Quest shows from when I was a kid. Very sarcastic and very funny. Especially the episode where they find out that Sasquatch and the six million dollar man were lovers.
