Hey hey Patrons!

How long have we been on the Patreon Feed? 3 Weeks? A year? Help us to recollect...

Them Burly Bois are back rocking a so-retro-its-modern masterpiece for Manly Movie Monday (er, Wednesday, you know the deal) and we're checking Robert Eggers BACK BREAKINGLY fantastic decent into madness, The Lighthouse.

On the week when pretty much everything went into fuckin' lockdown we figure we dip back into the icy waters of this monochromatic nightmare that KINDA PREPARED US FOR THE QUARANTINE LIFE in late 2019.

Even though Alex is technically the only one who hasn't seen this juggernaut of filmmaking and acting, we still are rapt with the films tone of eerie suspense, really taken aback at the bevy of  laughs that film provides and completely engrossed by the power house performances from Defoe and Pattison!

It's Batman vs The Green Goblin and we're loving it!

NEXT MANLY MOVIE MONDAY post will be for the 80s Sly Stallone, pizza scissor cutting classic COBRA!

Totally man! We have a blast. The one film that made me think twice that Parasite was the runaway film of the year.

I felt so lucky being able to see this in a cinema. Its a rare films that I can't find a single fault with. Good to see Alex enjoyed it too, his face for the last 2 scenes was a picture!

Absolutely-goddamn right David! Not too often you get to in the hands of a true master and a couple of just razor sharp and powerful performances! We knew Lex would be all about it! Glad to have you with us!

I feel this is truly the best example of Lovecraftian horror put to cinema. Everytime that old bigot described creeping dread and slipping sanity he was trying to get at this. Love to finally see it.

That is a GREAT take! Certainly the thing that Pattinson seeks and Defoe protects is this unknown, indescribable force of the Lighthouse. That with some of the weird pyscho-sexual underwater stuff. Opie I am going to steal this observation and pass it off as my own from here on out! πŸ˜‰
