Let's give a SO to all the ladies doing their thing in the 90s! Here is one classic 90s banger for next week: Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High

Markia Thomas

Actually Chris Brown sample’s SWV’s version of “Right Here” in a song called “She Ain’t You” off of his FAME album. It’s one of my favorite songs by him.

Hodge House

Oh yaaaayyyy! My request 😁 Okay more info: Pharrell, a young teenager, was interning under another MEGA producer named Teddy Riley. Teddy Riley produced Micheal Jackson's entire "Dangerous" album. Anyway Pharrell got the opportunity to produce the remix for SWV. So Pharrell did the music, and did a rap as well. Teddy didn't like the rap, so Pharrell chopped it up to just "S! Double! U! To the 'V'!" 🤣😂🤣

Carla Davis

Guys this song was and still is super popular with gen x. Adding that human nature from MJ was killer. I think everyone would pick this as their favorite version.

Jen M

I loved SWV! So classy and beautiful voices!!

Sheivon Jackson

FYI: the Right Here Remix was made for the movie Free Willy soundtrack, which is why it sounds a lot more mainstream.

djhyjak

I think this is the first New Jack Swing song you guys have done, It was the early fusion of hiphop and r&b style production. Pioneered by Teddy Riley who taught the likes of Timberland, Missy, Chad & Pharell (when they were a duo)

Storm

Teddy’s Virginia Beach studio where they recorded that album was close to my high school, Princess Anne, which is where Pharrell went.

Precious

SWV was one of the most popular girls groups in the 90s and def. one of the most talented vocally. SWV is an acronym for Sisters With Voices. I suggest their song “Weak” Pharrell is one of the best producers ever! He has his own Lego movie based off his life/career coming out this year which I’m excited about :)

Alex Moore

You guys should really do a MJ x Thriller reaction. It’s the highest selling album of all time!

Zina

I love Barry Manilow. But I don't want you to pick it. Just messing with your dad. My favorite song is I write the songs. Lol lol lol.

Adrienne

YESSSS… Thriller album reaction please!!! 🙏🏽 It is such a legendary album.

Robin

I don't know if you guys have ever reacted to Maxwell but I would suggest Ascension ( Don't Ever Wonder) for next week.

Precious

Im patiently waiting on their reaction to Maxwell. They said they would react an entire album/song outside of Peoples Choice🤞🏾

TheFrontRoom

Way back I took disco dancing lessons and the instructor played Barry’s Copacabana more or less non stop every session. Soured my impression but I do like Mandy. (Dad)

Dewayne Williams

Love swv they have a ton of hits definitely one of the best girl groups of all time

Erica

First time I’ve ever heard any one say they preferred the original over the mj version lol. The original is an after thought to the mj remix. I haven’t heard the original played since it first came out when i was a 5yr old in 1992 lol. To each their own though lol..love seeing other ppls perspectives. Also , a lot of R&B remixes in the 90’s and early 00’s were usually a lot different than the other. One would be more laid back and the other would be more up beat. Ex. Destiny’s Child No, No, No , Dru Hill’s In My Bed, Mya’s Best of Me, & Jaged Edge’s Let’s Get Married. Or they would just add in a rapper to an already established song and call it the remix lol. Love this channel guys. Keep up the good work.

This was a surprising reaction! I was thinking, while watching you guys react to the first, thinking "they're going to have their minds blown". I was wrong. If you guys like that sound though... you should look up some Teddy Riley (he was in a group called Guy). Riley invented the genre of r & B called "New Jack Swing", which is the sound of that original SWV song.

Tnulb

As for my suggestions for next week: -Yebba "In My Mind" (live from Sofar NYC) -Cautious Clay "Cold War"

Kenysha

I don't think you guys have played Usher on the channel, so that's my PC23 suggestion! You Got It Bad, Burn, Superstar, or Climax. Confessions the album deserves a full, uninterrupted listen.

Jasmine R

Rain or Weak by SWV

SlumpJones

Nas also sampled MJs “Human Nature” around this same time with “It Ain’t Hard to Tell”

The music video that was uploaded for right here definitely makes the recording sound more low fidelity than if you actually listen to the song say on Spotify I find a lot of music videos uploaded for old songs have the same problem My guess is a lot of these videos were probably shot on videotape(which is known for being low resolution at least visual wise but I’m guessing sound wise too)

90s Rap Tee

Pharrell didn't produce the remix he's the one doing the "s, double u, v" adlibs in the background. It's his (I believe - dont quote me) first official credit on a record.

Christina Pride

The human nature version of the song was for a movie soundtrack. The movie is called “Free Willy”. I can’t believe I’m so late to this one. This would explain the nature of the video and the setting
