Nen is activated through sheer brute force with a nen attack or through a lot of meditation. Gon and Killua had their Nen "opened" with an attack from Wing and the Nen attack from Gon did the same with Rammot and now Rammot tries to do the same stuff to give other Ants the ability to activate/use Nen

hear me out, hear me out...what ifff, instead of adding a new show for an empty slot...stay with me now.... we get double drops for hxh instead. Naruto has double drops, One piece has double drops, Avatar has double drops, it's hxh's time to get promoted. This arc has you on the edge of your seat and immersed. It only gets more intense from here.

Man the way I slept on this arc heavy on my first watch thinking it was slow and boring. It is developing to be a even better arc then York new which is a 10/10 arc and I use to think was peak hxh

“To add to this” he did it without malicious intent, so it unlocked their nen easily without harm. For others (like the Spinning Top guy) they suffered harm when exposed to Nen without any defense.

This arc although having many episodes has such a great pacing. I’ve heard a couple of opinions in the past about this arc saying that it was boring because it was so long, but I feel like those people just want to see battles in anime and nothing else. Because the storytelling is just incredible, it makes you ask yourself some questions. Anyways, ep 84-85 are 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Savannah I feel you but I think many said it had bad pacing on a first watch. Like on my first watch, the ants I wasn’t to involved and intrigued by and had no idea how great they would be so I was bored. Rewatching I’m appreciating more

Pretty sure he says it's a bad spin when he is 100% certain he will kill the target, since he doesn't like taking lives how we saw in the beginning of the arc and the Gon's flashback

Don't think you need to double drop the next 2 episodes and I don't understand why people think it's necessary. But I do think you shouldn't skip a day and watch them together.

I think you may have forgotten because it's been a while, but when Gon and Killua learned Nen, Wing had told them that there were two ways to activate Nen in one. Firstly, the normal way, i.e. through years of training. And secondly, through force. And it was this path that Gon and Killua went, and that the Chimera Ants are going now. By hitting each other with all their strength, they put each other in an emergency situation, which then violently forces the Nen out of them

The difference between arcs makes HxH feel more realistic or atleast immersive to me. Like their journey has twists and turns from good times to dark dark times like real life

HxH is a remake so the first part from the start to greed island had already been animated and it was alot darker in the hxh1999 version and togashi was sick so Chimera Ant Arc was long so it took longer to finish

I agree with Mohamed. On my first watch, I also found it really slow paced. And It's not just because I want fights all the time. If that was the case, I wouldn't have loved season 2 of Vinland saga. But that was a masterpiece for me. I think part of what can feel slow with the ant arc, is that they start mentioning the king too early. It feels like they build up the hype too soon, and the hype for the king sort of died out for me, before we got to see him. But of course, when he was born, I got hooked again.

I think he might have felt it was a bad spin, because he wanted Gon and Killua to fight some more. But as he mentioned, that specific weapon can only be used with that move. So when he got that weapon, he had to use it like that, which he knew would basically kill all of them, leaving no more opponents for Gon and Killua. But I might be thinking too much into it

Personally I feel like it made sense that everything revolved around the king because that was the biggest threat. Once a king was born, the hierarchy in the ant colony changed and the risk expanding the colony was imminent. So I feel like it made a lot of sense to be at the forefront of the arc pretty early on. But everyone has different perspectives :)

I also feel like they over extend themselves to be honest. They watch too many shows at once. I think it’s better to watch 2-3 at a time instead of forcing it.

It’s just a catch phrase. It’s always a “bad spin” lol. It’s the condition. He can’t choose the weapon he gets, which probably makes his ability slightly stronger.

If y'all remember, when Wing was teaching Gon and Killua about Nen, he had to forcibly awaken Nen in them by forcing his Nen into them. So Rammot had the same thing happen to him when he got punched by Gon with a fistful of Nen.
