The thing about Kuroko no Basket is that some of their abilities/plays are based on real life basketball. But they just exaggerate it to look like they have these powers.

The generation of miracles are truly another level, I'm really pumped for you guys to meet them. Just like blue lock, many of the players in kuroko are based off of real athletes so keep that in mind 😤😤😤

Btw, some familiar voices you may or may not have picked up so far after these two episodes- -Kuroko is voiced by Kensho Ono who is also the voice of Yuri Briar in Spy X Family -Kagami is voiced by Yuki Ono who is also the voice of Rensuke Kunigami in Blue Lock -Kogane is voiced by Takuya Eguchi who is also the voice of Loid Forger in Spy X Family -Hyuuga is voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya who is also the voice of Asahi is Haikyuu -Kise is voiced by Kimura Ryouhei who is also the voice of Bokuto in Haikyuu I guarantee that you're going to know and/or recognize A LOT of voice actors in this series (especially the voices of The Generation of Miracles) because the Kuroko no Basket voice acting cast is absolutely STACKED!

I agree Ron I used to have basketball shorts underneath all the time lol but also the really good players now a days sometimes they even be ballin in crocs or slides because they just that good and it makes it feel a bit more disrespectful to the opponent lol

Gotta agree with Ron. Back in middle school and high school, I was ready with the basketball shorts underneath my jeans. I didn't usually wear my best basketball shoes because that was reserved for playing in the gym/indoor courts but I did my street shoes on for pavement/concrete courts.

when it comes to sports anime, the norm is that all of them have "powers" but in majority of them, they are real life skills and real life "plays" but just exaggerated for the anime, like in haikyuu, one of the sports animes with the least "powers" (from my opinion) but things like the super quick, roooolling thunder or float serve these things are real but exaggerated to have a better impact. Kuroko no basket have a lot of these "powers" which makes for nice cinematics visually, look forward to it! and ofc there are sports anime with ... "I summon the wind spirit to help me boost this ball at mach 10 speed!!!" :D

Can totally understand where your coming from regarding the shorts but my interpretation of this scene is that he wanted to show just how strong he is when he isn't serious plus visually it looks way more cool as well as kinda scary to see such high skill without any supporting gear.....another thing is you guys are in for a ride when it comes to the over the top skills what I love about this anime and the manga is the author's ability to blend real world skills with over the top action he basically made basketball cool again....and we don't mind the comparisons to haikyuu cause most modern sports anime take inspiration from the older ones and Kuroko no basket is one such sports anime it's up there with slam dunk and eyeshield 21 you guys should check those out as well along with hajime no ippo ashita no Joe....there is even diamond no ace Major as well and who can for get prince of tennis

You guys are right on the plays being exaggerated. It’s not realistic when it comes to high school basketball in Japan. My favourite realistic Sports Anime are Ace Of The Diamond (baseball) and Hajime No Ippo (boxing). Haikyuu wasn’t my cup of tea tbh

i definitely love the sports anime genre, but this is up there with prince of tennis towards the later seasons for the "unrealisticness". nonetheless a decent anime to quench the sports anime craving. i would think baby steps, diamond no ace and maybe haikyuu would be more realistic. lowkey want rice and ginger to react to racing genre like initial d & mf ghost or maybe something like oshi no ko. i will just wait patiently for that day. xD basketball wise, slam dunk has to be my number 1 go-to.
