I hope you guys will read HxH chapter 1 because they didn't do justice with Kite in the anime 🤧 Kite was the one making Gon to be a Hunter, he didn't know his dad was a Hunter back then, he found out after meeting Kite in chapter 1. I still don't get why this anime made this changes, it doesn't make sense.

You can watch the intro; all it shows is the different characters you'll meet. Which isn't a big deal. Some people get so worried over the slightest inkling of something being "spoiled".

Gon won the quiz at the end of Greed Island so he was probably fully aware of Magnetic Force vs Accompany, but he probably had no idea that Ging would have an opinion about him bringing friends. I just watched the OP and ED and they both spoil character designs, if you care about that, not a huge deal. There are also some subtle story elements present, but as long as you're not like dissecting frame by frame you could def watch without ruining anything, imo.

Yeah, the intro really doesn’t spoil anything. It will just show characters you haven’t seen before, and that’s pretty much it.

Magnetic force is just another greed island card. Its just like accompany letting you transport to a previously met player, but only 1 goes instead of transporting anyone around also.

Magnetic force is also a card like accompany, but the difference is that magnetic force only brings one person, ging said that he would only met gon if he is alone, that’s why accompany made the kids go to kite.

Accompany and Magnetic Force were 2 different cards from Greed Island. Ging expected Gon to figure out a way to use the travel cards as a reward for beating the game. Ging was just saying that if he uses Accompany (which brings the user and the people around him to the target player, in this case 'Nigg') that he wanted them to go to Kite. Only if Gon used Magnetic force (which brings only the user to the target player) then it would bring him to Ging. It sounds like Ging was just being shy and awkward though, and didn't want to have other people around when they meet each other.

18:44 Magnetic force was just a card in Greed Island, and we've seen it being used before, it just sends you towards your target (a person) but you can't bring people with you using it. P.S. Also, Kite's VA is different from the narrator's and the narrator VA is the same throughout HxH I think. You guys are striking out today with your theories xD I don't blame you tho, the VAs sounded very similiar and I totally see Ron's line of thought about magnetic force as something that could be legit :p

Yep, I wanted to say this exactly! It's no next level or something. Naturally, if Gon is alone, he would choose magnetic force, but because he is with someone else(Killua), he uses accompany. Ging thinking two possibilities ahead is sick, though. But there's nothing twist. As she says, he was just being shy seeing Gon's buddies.

The intro doesn’t spoil much of the show, but it does show the new characters that you’ll be dealing with so if you don’t mind that, go head. But I would definitely recommend AGAINST watching the ending. It has some VERY suggestive images from the show that I would consider HUGE SPOILERS so please DO NOT watch.

IDK why people tell reactors to not watch opening and endings or to not read the episodes tilted. Everyone and their grandmas watch them. There would be no reason to include openings/endings if they had spoilers in them. If anything, it takes away from the experience not watching them.

People are gonna be very divided about whether for you to watch the intros or not. Basically the intro shows characters that you are about to meet and give hints on what roles they play. It's a little spoilery especially if you understand some hints. But it's really up to you guys

Honestly I think you two should just watch the intro/outro, there's really no reason not to because they're there for a reason and the animation studios make them for the fans, fully expecting them to watch them (whether there are spoilers or not in them) or else if nobody ever watched the intros or outros then we wouldn't have them anymore. That being said, if you two really don't want to react to the intro and outro because you're afraid of spoilers then that's completely fine and I know that we will all respect your decision but please let that be of your own decision, don't let some other people's opinions on what you shouldn't watch influence your own opinions and decisions.

The flashback you saw with Kite and Gon on Whale island was in episode 1 of the 1999 version of hunter x hunter. I think the reason that they didn't include that in the newer version, was in case the show didn't make it to this arc.

You're right. Magnetic force, if I remember correctly, does the same as Accompany, but it only takes the user, instead of everyone in an area. So Ging said if Gon would come alone (using magnetic force), then he was allowed to meet Ging. But if he was "spineless" and tries to bring others (using Accompany), then they would be sent to Kite

I think whether or not you should watch the intro, is different for every person. Some people don't see it as spoiler, but as teasers, and therefore get more excited. But others feel like something is spoiled for them. If you have watched an opening, and felt spoiled by it before, then maybe wait, otherwise just watch it. In the end, it is up to the individual, as seen by the comments.

Magnetic Force is just another card of the game which works similarly to Accompany except it can only warp one person. So if Gon chose Magnetic Force than Killua couldn’t have come with him. I guess that in Ging’s mind, if Gon uses Accompany that means he’s not independent enough to go on his own and so not ready to meet him.

Maybe for Hunter x Hunter, it's okay to watch the intros but I always suggest to watch the intro only at the end of every arc because of One Piece. There's kind of a spoiler especially regarding a possible new nakama. So I kind of suggested this in every anime reaction just to make sure no character spoiler in the intro.

In 1999 version of Hunter x Hunter, Kite was already shown in first few episodes and the flashback here was shown in the early episode in the older version. It was cut in 2011 version. For me, it was a better experience to watch the 1999 version then this episode after the end of the old version.

People saying the intros and outros are meant to be watched… bro this things are created by the anime studio, not the original creator of the story, the manga does not have an intro and outro, he did not think of this. The story even hide at first the way the king and the other three looks…I think is meant to be a surprise. Cmon guys, you really want a “omg thats the guy from the opening”? Or a “omg he is sick looking”. I vote to wait until the king is born.

I really don’t think it’s worth it to watch the intro/outro. There are definitely some spoilers for story in both of them. It also shows so many new characters that would just be more enjoyable to see for the first time when they are introduced in the story in my opinion

Yeah people gotta remember that many anime OPs (especially this one) are made for the audience in japan where a vast majority of people already read the manga. And definitely agree that “oh we saw them in the intro” can make character introductions less impactful

19:14 you're wrong with that Magnetic Force thing, Ron. Magnetic Force was a card in Greed Island, i don't think we've seen them use it at all (except for mentioning it multiple times). But it doesn't require any kind of skill. It was just a total gamble, Gon had 50% chance to meet Ging, but he decided to go with Killua, so he used Accompany. That's all it is, just an frustrating troupe, like in movies where people looking for themselves could meet, but they miss themselves by a margin.

I vote for skipping it until I think episode 91. It shows some spoiler in the opening as well as some new character design. Be better for you too see them first time in the actual show then in the opening.

I remember the first time I watched this show, I never skipped the intros cause tbh I simply didn't really care. To me it's just part of the experience, I wasn't sitting there trying to piece everything together. I was just like "wow this arc looks interesting" "who's that?" "That character looks cool" "This song is dope". As if I was watching a trailer. That's it. These so called "spoilers" don't really phase me because ultimately, we still are ignorant and don't know shit. Therefore, there's still that aspect of surprise and excitement. Ya'll gotta stop scaring them. Smh, really over here robbing them of the experience over some new characters being in the intro. Like there hasn't been new characters shown in damn near every intro they've watched previously.

Honestly, I never skip intros or endings. I mean, it's not really a spoiler. Nobody skips them when they first watch these shows, no real need to skip them when you react to them.

I go back and forth with y'all watching the openings/endings too. They really only show new characters in the openings, but the endings do risk more potential spoilers. So it's probably is best to wait until the end of the arc, or the whole anime in general (just to be on the safe side), and that way your reactions could be more of first impressions without having any glimpses beforehand.

Intro does spoil the characters which normally would not matter, but actually in this storyline it does matter a little. I cant say too much without spoiling, but basicly the main villain(s) is something you'd want to see for the first time in the actual story and not in the intro. So if I were you I'd skip the intro. But watching intro wont ruin the experience, so you are good either way.

Magnetic Force is a card in Greed Island, which teleports a single person. Whereas Accompany transports a party. So Ging either wanted Gon to be independent enough to meet him alone, or he just don't like to meet a crowd

There are new characters you will see in this arc in the intro and outro. For me, intro and outro are there to hype up the show for those who read the manga and those who do not know the show but can't wait to see who those characters are in the show. But if you really want to go in blind then it is your choice. So next, Ging made it that if Gon chose the Magnetic Force card to 'teleport' to Ging, he will teleport to him successfully since he will be alone. However, if Gon chose the Accompany On card, Gon and friends will be teleported to Kite. Gon chose the Accompany On card cause he wanted to introduce Killua to Ging over using Magnetic Force card to go to Ging alone. The narrator and Kite VA do sound alike but they are not the same VA. Kite VA is also Shanks VA. ^-^

That's why it's always best to start with manga, because any adaptation including anime adaptation always change it 😢 For some adaptations like AoT changed because of the author's request is okay, but most of the adaptations only get permission for copyright from the author and never involved them in making. So I always recommend people to read the original manga.

It's better to read the manga chapter 1, because 1999 version adding too much anime original story that taking away from the manga story. The characters are behaving different way in 1999 version, hence didn't connect with future events or character developments in manga, so they changed it more in the anime, and it makes further away from manga.

Magnetic Force is just a normal spell card like Accompany On. Gon basically had a 50-50 chance of meeting Ging if he picked the right card to bring out of the game. What is really impressive is that Ging was able to predict so far as Gon picking a spell card to transform to take out from the game.

i would say watch it, but maybe just once. or if you do watch it, dont watch it closely as you progress bc then you'll slowly be able guess what might happen. the intro gives hints, but only if you really analyze it as you watch the season
