Yeah I believe Michelle is right in which timeline wise the movie takes place right before they get attacked at the summer camp but in terms of chronological release the movie came out around this time in the show. This was a filler episode so it doesn’t really pertain to the original story. It’s basically it’s their way of connecting the movie (which also isn’t manga cannon) into the anime. They jumped back in time in order to show why the movie’s plot is going to be what it is and how it ties to the overall world

All for One called all might an American when they fought, but maybe he was just commenting on his looks. Maybe he's an American who was raised in Japan.

Guys you hhave to take into consideration that theres filler episodes in anime wich are not related to the actual storyline and are usually used to make sometime because sometimes anime caughts up to the manga so they use filler so that manga can get ahead a little bit of anime and not everything we see in filler episodes is actually real we called this things not cannon wich are not a part of the real story wich is everything we see in manga

Waver

He's Japanese and left Japan to the USA after graduating UA

This deserves a double upload 😼

I think his mom might've been a little too close to their foreign milk man.

Called a “ filler “ Ron. Ig with watching demon slayer and AOT you aren’t really exposed to many this irrelevant to the current story. But they definitely are there !

Benjamin Light

Yea this is a filler episode. The movie and this episode are not part of the main story. It's just extra stuff to watch basically, what ever happened in this episode and the movie, is not and will not be referenced in main story, since it never happened in that timeline.

Cathy

I watched all of the Hobbit movies and haven't watched any Lotr movies. HEHE i might've missed many references but I think movies or stories like that should be made so they can be watched both ways (timeline-wise and/or intended date of release). But as always, I love your reactions! your tiny arguments show how real and honest you are. :) Have a nice weekend!

Ah the classic debate. Chronological or release order. 😂 Either way works. Just let us know which order y'all prefer so the lists we send for shows to help y'all are correct.

No you guys watched the movie too earlier(its fine anyways, you werent spoiled on anything). This was a promotional video at the time to announce the movie so people could know to watch it. So here, were basically given the ok from the show itself to go ahead and watch the movie. So Ron is correct.

They were fine the way they did it. The movie released in the US in July '18 and then in Japan in early August '18. But the writing and creation of the movie started in '17 based on where the story was at that time. This episode aired a few weeks after the films Japan release but both this episode and the movie are set between Season 2 and 3. The way you can tell is that a part of the first movie was All Might still trying to hold muscle form so that no one knows he is emaciated normally (even though now it is public knowledge after All for One). Also while Midoriya uses Full Cowling from Season 2, he doesn't use "Shoot Style" once. This episode is just referencing the film as a tie-in and promotion for the movie (which was still in theaters in Japan) but isn't required viewing before watching the movie.

Not quite right. All for One doesn't call All Might an American during their fight. Endeavor calls him an American when they are raiding the bar.
