Day 3 of asking for slime movie and OVA (please + pretty + cherry)

nicosded

Welcome back!!

myst0dreamer

You saw Veldora had destroyed the Vampires' city/castle, Nightrose. That was 2000 years ago. It was to the point that they had to move, they could not restore or rebuild. Then later, Veldora destroyed a city, which prompted the Hero to seal him. That was 300 years ago. There might be others. Veldora, before he was sealed, acted on impulse, and was unrestrained. He didn't control his aura so few people could even live in his vicinity. But Veldora has been observing Rimuru while he was in his stomach, and he learned a lot. He matured a bit. He is still a relative child as True Dragons go. He respects Rimuru and considers him his equal. So he listens to Rimuru. There's been several times when Rimuru told Veldora, "Don't do it!" He doesn't answer to Rimuru, though..... I don't know which original source of Game of Thrones or Slime came first but it doesn't matter. Neither one was the first time anyone wrote about political intrigue, even in a fantasy world.... They are working on showing all the conflicts, plots, threats, masterminds, etc., but this presentation so far has mostly been what Rimuru is aware of. They do show some other pov's. And I think you are overestimating Rimuru and his people, and underestimating the potential threats, and how much of it could be based on placing Tempest in a bad position that can't be solved via warfare (but you can't forget about it). Considering Rimuru's goals, he needs humans to trust him.

The CulturedGentleman

I not 100% sure on this, but the leader of the clowns is the Demon Lord that they stated Leon Cromwell killed who got resurrected - Kazalim (i think) who is just going by that alias Yuki now to keep a low profile. I think im spot on but correct me if im wrong

John

Yuuki wanting to conquer the world does seem like a lot, but consider until Rimuru arrived they already controlled the entire guild system of the Western Nations (under Yuuki), controlled an entire nation (under Clayman), and would have controlled the Jura Forest if their plan with the Orc Lord had succeeded. they actually had a ton of power.

Rainet

Congratulations again you two! Also glad you did these two together, they're decent enough episodes but they're definitely taking a bit of time to get things rolling.

Zonbi

Keep in mind Clayman was stated to be the weakest member of their group. I don't think we can dismiss them so easily yet.

Michael H

That’s the Slime way. Slow rolling. Probably because it’s a slime.

Yoona Kim

Welcome back guys

Mu Nanyo

Kazalim is the elf-butler looking lady with that group but I think that yuuki is the “leader” of the group as well. Just based on the dynamic

Mu Nanyo

Ron mentioned how good a boss rimuru is and that was the mangakas inspiration, he wrote the character with the perfect traits for a boss in mind. Those flashbacks in the second episode of the construction site were probably his own as thats what he did before writing the story. Thats also why we get so much construction and project management content. “Write about what you know”

Saith Uchiha

Never watched slime besides with you but Veldora does seem very misunderstood if I had to guess he was just so powerful he just created chaos wherever he went maybe not even on purpose. Possibly he could not control himself in dragon form. It’s just very difficult to see this “guy” get so upset that his jello got taken away to be actually evil and a Tyrant.

myst0dreamer

That's true. Kazalim has acknowledged Yuuki as leader, so the others do too. They still call Kazalim President, though. Kazalim has decided to go by the name Kagali for now.

myst0dreamer

And would have controlled the Demon Lord "council" as both a threat and a voting bloc, if Clayman had really controlled Milim.

myst0dreamer

Despite what I said before, it's true that I have never seen what exactly caused his attacks. There must have been something that instigated them, right?

Rainet

They never had a prayer of a chance of actually controlling the Demon Lords, though. Their plan to control Milim was literally impossible *and they were too poorly informed to know that* (and their various information failures are a huge deal given they mostly function via manipulation). They really weren't/aren't that powerful, its more that circumstances align in ways that make them think that they are.

John

Yes controlling Milim would have failed regardless, but that doesn't mean they weren't powerful. All the points I listed are still valid. As for Milim, even Laplace warmed Clayman to watch out, but Clayman was convinced he had control. He was, as they said, the weakest member of the Moderate Harlequin Alliance after all.

Kerel D.

I think it's mostly because he came in contact with Rimuru and because of that he has learned ways to "reduce" his aura and have it more under control. Without ever having met Rimuru I think he would be completely different than he is now.

myst0dreamer

Especially if he had died. (Again. He had died before some number of times.) And he was headed for death, he said so himself, in about 100 years. Every time he died he lost his memories--it makes sense that when he came back, with no memories, it'd be back to square one on the mental maturity scale. Now that it's almost impossible for Veldora to lose his memories (via Rimuru's Ultimate Skills Veldora and the Soul Corridor), we can hope any learned maturity will stick.

Saith Uchiha

I guess when you have so much power maybe it’s hard to control it. Rimmaru must just be his best freind that is powerful enough to “control” him.

Rainet

It just depends what you consider powerful, I guess. Clayman got packed up by *Shion*. He had to have a soul-consuming buff to even be mildly relevant to Rimiru. Footman and Tear explicitly state they couldn't have handled the remnant of Charybdis, and Benimaru *one shots it*. Yeah, they're stronger than Geld and whats-his-face panther boy, but neither of those are particularly heavy hitters for Tempest. B-tier combatants. They just aren't playing in Tempest's main guns weight class. Diablo, Benimaru, and Veldora would walk through them, solo. The schemes and shadows have them FULL of false confidence.

John

You're making a lot of assumptions without any evidence, but I'm not talking about strictly battle power. I'm talking political power, which is far more important for a goal like "taking over the world."

myst0dreamer

Rimuru, as a Demon Lord, stated one of his goals was to make other nations recognize Tempest as a power that isn't vulnerable to negotiation by force. That still leaves other vulnerabilities--economic, political, reputational, environmental, and more.

Phyllis

You should totally go Japan! I'm literally in Japan now on holiday and watching this video! 😊❤️ So much anime haul!😍
